They may not be from the South but I don't consider ID, WV, OK, NE, SD Yankeeland.
And Leach might be born in CA but I think he grew up in WY and is a Trump guy so I wouldn't define him as a Yankee either.

Born in El Reno. Grew up in Grove OK. Went to college at Pittsburg, KS. He was an offensive lineman there. Did his GA work at Pittsburg, KS.
The only reason he left AR and went to GA, was because of Bert.

I've been to both, and they both country and southern in their own separate ways. Folks from the mountains have a flat accent, and flatlanders have a rounded accent. Also, West Virginians are some of the proudest Southerners I've ever met. I met a lot of them at Stonewall Jackson's tomb in Lexington, Virginia. The most unashamed Rebels I've ever seen. Stonewall was a West Virginian fwiw.
