The Beacon has great breakfast. Old school and on N. Lamar north of the square.

I loved AJax for some good country foods. Just check out their website for the dishes. I have stopped by several times. I was only disappointed once and that was game day so allow plenty of time if on game day.

That one time, I was with my son-in-law and he was decked out in KY Blue for a game later that day and he brought me a hat to wear. No one would serve us. I had to go ask for service and they said, I guess so. Hospitality is not their strong suit for outsiders and this was for a KY fan, not a hated rival or anything.

I have not been back and I go through there on business a good bit. The food is good though, they just are assholes or were that day.

This place apparently has a sausage plate on the menu. It must be a fine establishment.
