I can’t believe y’all would want a guy to play for you who can BARELY manage a 2.0 of hand picked easy af throw away trash classes.

He basically threw away his first semester, which they normally have guys take 12-15 hours. Now how many of those classes he actually failed is up for debate, but clearly wasn't an insignificant amount. Just by doing the math, sabotaging yourself that early on in college is tough to work your way out of and simply takes time because you have so little classes working for your GPA that early on.

If he failed say 3 classes in semester 1, got a D and C in 2 others...that's a 0.6 GPA he's working on getting a hole out of at this point. If he took and passed 12 hours this spring for 18 total hours, and let's say he got 2 B's, 2 C's...That's a 2.5 semester GPA but still only a 1.44 cumulative GPA.

Basically by throwing away his first semester he has a nice mountain to climb up.

Wtf? He would have taken Gilbert when he was being recruited out of high school, but after all this prima donna BS? Not a chance.

Not trying to diagnose the guy but ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and is a common mental illness characterized by the inability to concentrate or sit still. The condition is, of course, more involved than these two symptoms. But extreme ADHD can make studying almost impossible. That has nothing to do with intellect and that type of person is dealing exclusively with emotional limitations.

I use common sense after watching him recruit for the last 14+ years. He's definitely passed on a lot of kids. Another thing, it's obvious Alabama has never had interest or he would have been talking about Alabama.

I could ask you the same dumbass question by the way. So Saban told you he'd take Gilbert in heartbeat?

Let's not pretend like saban didn't deal with idiots, academic issues and prima Donna's ever before at bama. Reuben Foster who got sent home from combine for arguing with a medical staff and failed his drug test ring a bell? Yeah I'm sure he was super easy to deal with at bama.

Good thing you don’t need to study to have a 2.0 in the classes LSU gave him

So Alabama gets every single player they have interest in.

Bammers can be so delusional.

Yeah

He found a way to get a 2.0 and keep his head down at Alabama

You’re making that guy’s point

Building relationships with players who are on scholarship over the course of 3-4 years and keeping them all grounded is part of the job. Inviting proven idiots who are already a distraction to another university is another. No way Saban would want any part of Gilbert at this time.

Stop cherry picking my post. You and I both know you're wrong.

Yes, by the way, Gilbert was heavily interested in Alabama while being recruited and he'd be interested now if he was getting ANY attention from Alabama and Coach Saban.

He also failed the drug test at combine, and has been in trouble with that in the nfl as well. Mysteriously never missed any time at bama for any such offense

His point wasn't just GPA, he said prima donna and there's literally zero doubt saban has had to deal with MANY of those in his time coaching. He's quite good covering up any messes a lot of players have, I'll give him that. But to act like he didn't have known idiots he put up with at bama is totally laughable.

When I think discipline and structure Ed Orgeron is the last coach I think of.

He obviously has zero clue how to deal with Arik type players

I don't know, we haven't seen O have the issues that Jimbo had with Jameis.
