Does it matter if it only brings in 10 dollars in profit? If they are going to field a team, they might as well try to win, too. It the opportunity to win is enormous so too is the obligation to get it done.

Georgia had a quality coach who was averaging 10 wins a year, top 5 and top 10 finishes annually, having excellent recruiting and delivering a bowl game every year for 15 years.
Georgia replaced him with a guy who wins back to back nattys, SECs , has lost only 2 games since 2020 - all in championship games- and is now the acknowledged the best coach and top recruiter in the country
Florida has gone from one clown coach to another, can’t even qualify for the weed eater type bowls, top players and recruits are leaving in droves and fans have given up. Even Steve Superior, their chief cheerleader and all around jerk, has admitted that there is no “buzz” around the program.
I don’t see any similarity at all between the programs.

The post I was responding to was about pumping money into it as an investment. So, yes it does matter.
