. Yall need to accept that $5 million dollars is the going rate in Texas for a head coach. Mack made that much to run that program into the ground, and Charlie makes that to keep it in the ground. We pay market rates.

stupidity and "market rates" are not the same thing. you can't just make shite up and not expect people to call you out on it

A team on the decline dropped 55 on you last year.

Yeah, and a team coming off "lightning in a bottle" and lucky to win 9 on the average put up 44 on the Holy Saban defense.

When will the East realize that in spite of all these teams' shortcomings, all of them could go undefeated in the East?

Nope, nope, nope.......because of scheduling and shite.

i wonder in what week y'all will start the annual "Fire Sumlin" thread this season

I don't know the exact timing, but I do know it will be unsatisfying for you.

It will be some week when no one here is expecting it, like when we lose a big recruit, and not a week that every corndog WILL expect it like the first time Chavis's D allows more than 50 points.

How does it feel to know your school offers well above market value but no proven winners at coaching want to be a part of your cult-like, little brother, jizz jar filling program?

Not really.

People make more money on average in those places. So they are willing to pay more for normal needs in life like a place to stay, food to eat, etc. That drives up the cost for everyone in those areas.

People in Texas who are alumni of major universities make more on average (than the SEC at least) and over time we have driven up the cost for our basic needs like head coaches.

Same principle.

Trying to teach economics to these hillbillies is like trying to explain yourself to a moth. I mean look at the states they live in. Most are on the brink of bankruptcy and have the poorest people, worst healthcare, and worst education in the country. Apes throw rocks when they are frustrated. Same principle.

Supply and demand are what keep housing prices so high in those areas. People have (to a certain extent) live in SF/NY if that is where their job is so they are fairly inelastic in terms of demand.

Texas schools have the exact same supply as any other school in the country.

ETA: The market for housing in SF/NY is SF/NY. The market for a college football coach is national. There are no "forces" in Texas changing that market any differently than anywhere else.

Who is making up shite?

Mack Brown WAS paid $5 million a year to RUN that program into the ground.

Charlie Strong IS being paid $5 million a year to barely make a bowl (and lose it badly).

Bob Stoops is making more than either to lose to Sumlin and run that program into the ground.

In our region we are paying market rates. Period. Heck at least we got a bowl win for our money.

Sorry you can't understand basic economics.

Your "market rates" aren't any higher than other states. those other schools just tend to pay that much money to coaches that....you know....win shite.
