Wow, how sad for Mississippi State. Games at UAB, Memphis, and Troy? I believe all three of those games will be within a 5 year time frame.

in 2014 they are going to play South Alabama in Mobile....

You guys just recently went on the road and played the University of Louisiana at Monroe at Little Rock. ULM-LR.

That's actually true since we let them count it as a home game.

It's worse than I thought. Why does Mississippi State play so many away games at small schools? They will eventually lose. Maybe losing to a crappy school on the road is better than losing to them at home.

Yeah, WTF was that all about?

Business move for us... The 2 for 1's with non BCS teams(for free) generate more revenue for us than doing home and home with BCS opponents(2 sellouts vs 1 sellout). We don't need big name teams to sell it out anymore, hence why we don't play them. This guarantees that we keep 7 home games every year going forward, instead of having 6 some years.

Davis-Wade doesn't generate enough revenue to simply buy decent OOC games yet. Yes, we can buy FCS teams, but not C-USA or Sun Belt programs. After the expansion is complete, the revenue stream will grow drastically, and you'll see this scheduling model go away.

Plus we schedule all these road games in smaller places we recruit heavily, under the pretense that we may not steal many players Bama/Aub/UGA wants out of Troy/Montgomery, but we can clean up on the next tier.

After they experience the nothingness that is Troy, AL, they may decide to stay away from the lower-tier Alabama schools.

Nick Saban doesn't agree with that.

Troy is actually not a bad place. I don't live around it, but the two times I went through it seemed like a nice place.

He has lost to two both UAB (while at LSU) and Louisiana Monroe at home.

Yeah why waste the gas money to go to ULM when you can save gas money and get beat by them at BDS?

At Tulane in 2010, we do this fairly often and we're doing it again this year. Our fan base specifically requests to play at Tulane though so we get to go to New Orleans.

Dude as much shite as people give Starkville and Auburn, they should see Troy. No college town is as lame as that one is. Plus Auburn has grown immensely since 2005. It's unrecognizable. Troy, on the other hand, they're still stuck in the 1920s and are showing no signs of joining the 21st century anytime soon.

Sadly, I have heard a few Troy students say it's one of the best college towns in America. Seriously, I have! To this very day, I still can't come up with an appropriate response.

And since it appears that he'll retire at Bama, he'll never lose to one again.

We will be playing in Shreveport against La Tech. Basically a home game for us. We also play SMU in Dallas. I'm not even sure if its in their 45k stadium. That would be pathetic.

You will have a lot of A&M fans in the stands. You will not have more than LA Tech.
