Whatever. We destroyed a top 10 Arkansas team and desroyed #1 LSU in the natty. We also beat afew other teams that had winning records/played in bowl games like PSU, AU, UF, MSU, etc.

Before the bowl games you beat 3 teams with a winning record. I'm not counting bowl games because you are chosen for bcscg from your regular season resume. Or Atleast all other teams are. Yes you arky. A team that ole miss pushed around. PSU AND UF AND AUBURN SUCKED. period. Auburn needed a miracle insides kick to beat Utah st.

Miami went 76-6 from '86-92 and won 3 titles, could've won 5, and had 2 Heisman winners. Nebraska won 3 titles from '93-97 and almost won 4 if they wouldn't of lost the Orange Bowl. THESE ARE DYNASTIES. Like I said earlier, good run for Bama right now, nothing wrong with that.

I think some of you are having trouble with the meaning of "since." Alabama has had a good a run as anyone "since" Nebraska and Miami. I don't know why this is hard.

Maybe "after Miami and Nebraska" is more succinct?

Nobody's had a Miami type run--well, since Miami.

Ranked when you played them means shite and you know it. Hell Oklahoma was ranked top 5 and sucked. Texas was ranked high preseason and sucked. Psu and UF sucked.

So Miami and Nebraska both won 3 titles in a 5-6 year span each and are considered dynasties. Guess who's one title away from matching said accomplishments? Some of you guys are so blinded by your hatred and envy that you can't even think or count straight.

Guilty. Maybe it's the current flame fest going on that threw me off. It was a decent thread a few pages ago.

Means nothing when you played them. Before te bowl games( which is what your resume is). Bama beat 2 ranked teams. Arky and PSU. Beat 3 teams with a winning record. Div 2 doesn't count.

THESE ARE FACTS. NOT OPINIONS.

This thread

Bama won 2 BCS championships Naa-Nana-boo-boo.
LSU fans jealous
LSU fans think they are worthy of dynasty title even though last nc came in 07 as a two loss team.
13-1 #2 rings

I can tell you are good people. Tip of the hat sir.

As far as when "this" will end . . it *could* be over. It always takes a bit of luck and good fortune to reach the title game--two blocked kicks in '09 against UT, or an upset of OSU by Iowa State.

Alabama could be pretty competitive the next few years and not get the same breaks.

Let's face it: LSU may have had the most luck of all in '07--how many other 2 loss teams have made it to that game?

So matter how well Saban recruits, not matter how motivated he remains (if he does), it can still come down to lady luck.

It'd be different if we were playing in any other conference. There are just too many programs that are either at the top already (LSU--uh, just LSU), or the potential to get there.

Here's another fact...under BCS rules, Bama was given a chance to play for the natty and won it in astonishing fashion. The crystal ball, the AP trophy, and every other trophy of national significance currently and will always reside in T-town for the 2011 season. I get that you don't like the BCS rules that allowed us to get there, but that's the system all of our president's and AD's agreed to 15 years ago. That's not my problem.

But the thing is... Tebow's run was greater than the current Bama run. So to consider Alabama a dynasty, you would probably have to consider two or three more teams greater "dynasties" than Saban's Tide since Nebraska and Miami.

What makes it greater? Both programs had the same amount wins and national titles ('06-'09 vs '08-'11). Obviously UF had one more SEC title.

And we ended their 'dynasty' when Timmy wept tears of virtue in Atlanta.

And Urbs had the fake heart attack...

The biggest difference is if a team here doesn't play their best for that Saturday...there's a good chance they lose. Even pros can't keep their mojo every single game.

I'll say this... Miami in the 80's and Nebraska in the 90's were both in piss pour football conferences and played overall weak, weak schedules... Again this was in the pre bcs era. What Bama has done in the toughest conference and division EVER during the BCS era is ASTOUNDING

"Dynasty" is premature. And Tebow was just a role player for the first one.

I view the Alabama/UF run to be almost equivalent--two titles in 3 years. Yes they won the SEC in both of their attempts. But my view of the world: it really doesn't matter all that much to Alabama fans. Seriously. I mean, it's nice, but is anyone just peeing their pants over the 1999 SECCG? It's a wonderful achievement, and one we covet, but frankly I feel no shame in not winning it in the same year we take home the biggest prize.

Bama fans are saying that we are not yet in a dynasty...but we are one title run from being there. Had UF won a third title, say last year....they would be in that category as well, instead they imploded.
