Actually, we sent the thank you card to ISU. And LSU had to send several thank you cards in 2007...is your 2007 title not legitimate because you needed other teams to choke to get into the title game?

Whatever. We destroyed a top 10 Arkansas team and desroyed #1 LSU in the natty. We also beat afew other teams that had winning records/played in bowl games like PSU, AU, UF, MSU, etc.
Yeah, I don't think Bama deserved to be there, but to say they only played one tough game all year is to discount how good the SEC is. Just because there were two teams that were heads and shoulders above the rest in 2011 doesn't mean that the rest of the conference was horrible.

I sent Pitt a box of moonpies and a case of RC Cola.

I'm pretty sure Auburn wasn't ranked, and if we were, it was purely to create drama for the Iron Bowl. We'd just gotten blasted by UGA two weeks earlier.

Awesome. Thank God for teams who choke, huh?

Which goes back to winning the conference > national title. Because without that, you don't get in.
After last year, this is how I feel. The sec title is never disputed, because you aren't voted into the seccg. The bcscg was nothing more than a popularity contest. Had it been Oklahoma or Texas in OSU's place, no way are they left out. Think how livid Bama fans would be had it been them left out of the title game, for a team that didn't even win its division, AND HAD ALREADY BEEN BEATEN ( at home) by the other participating team. finebaum show would blowup. They would be mad as hell if they squeaked out a win against LSU on Nov 5th then had to go to Georgia and beat UGA for the right to play LSU, a team that they had already beaten.

AU was ranked #24 when we played. Bama beat 5 teams who were ranked at the time the games were played.

we would've destroyed all those teams.

Look about even to me, especially considering we had to play #2 LSU twice. OSU didn't play an elite team all year. Sooners sucked last year, as did the Horns.

Has anybody told the Bammers that one of their two recent NC are not worth as much as the other? The value of the last was greatly diminished by a myriad of factors. Everybody outside of 1941 knows this..but please flame on!!

The butthurt is strong with this thread.
Alabama has lost 6 games over the past four seasons, has won 10+ games in each of those 4 seasons, has appeared in the SECCG twice, won it once, and took home the biggest prize twice.
I don't care what you call it. But it's as good of a run as anyone--since maybe Nebraska in the 90s, or Miami in the late 80s/90s.

if you think any of those teams would've beaten bama then you need to wake up and smell what you're shoveling...

Div./conf. stuff is irrelevant since it's not a BCS requirement. I know you wish it was, but it's not. Sorry. And in 2007 it was irrelevant that LSU won the SEC with two losses because had WVU taken care of business LSU would have been SOL even with a conference title. Fact.
