This might be the most retarded thing I have ever seen posted. If this statement is even remotely legit, the UA program has bigger issues than playing a game in WMS.

Just reporting what is already happening. You haven't read much tRant if that is the most retarded thing you've read.

aTm is the biggest reason the LSU game ended up in Fayetteville, deal was made by SEC a long time ago to give them the Thanksgiving weekend game with LSU as a bone to come to the SEC.
One of the big reasons it was in LR on that weekend is that the students were mostly all gone from Fayetteville on that weekend anyway.

Meh who really cares? So we move a loss and one crap ooc game back to FVille. Do you really think you'll have a full house for the LSU game when we're battling for our 6th win?

The University of Arkansas.

For whatever it's worth, I've been to games at both stadiums and I hope LSU plays in Fayetteville permanently. The stadiums aren't even comparable and campus and Fayetteville are both great.

You guys have so much premium seating in RRS that not having all your games there, especially a big game, would seem like quite a loss of revenue. LSU doesn't play home games in Shreveport anymore for that reason, it makes no sense financially.

Yes, but for a small portion of our t-shirt fanbase, having a game close to home and/or having a chance to get shite faced on the golf course means more to them than the overall advantages of games at home for the program.

I can see what you're complaining about. I grew up ~2.5 hours from the Arkansas/Louisiana border and there's a good amount of LSU fans/alumni in my hometown. There's definitely a strong Arkansas following but it's not overwhelming.

I have no idea why but my highschool counselor & 4-5 teachers tried to steer anyone and everyone away from the UofA. Every valedictorian/salutatorian around my time always left the state or ended up at the honors program at UCA/OBU. I graduated with ~140 and if I were to count my graduation class and the year after me I'd say this is approximately where everyone I can remember going:

UCA 30+
ASU 20+
OBU 15-20
Arkansas 10
Hendrix 1 (golf scholarship)
UAM/UALR/Henderson/CC etc: 10-20

Out of State:
LSU 5
Ole Miss 2
MSU 1
Vanderbilt 1
SMU 1
TCU 1
Memphis 1

The rest went straight to work

A good amount of families around my area have never even gone to a Fayetteville game in their lifetime. They'll watch them on tv and attend the LR game(s). I'm not sure how fading out WMS will help/hurt southern Arkansas in regards to Razorback support but am interested in how it will play out.

My opinion is that the university is currently more interested in grabbing TX/OK/MO students than Arkansas students. This might be great in increasing university attendance and making a quick buck but long-term, most of these OOS students will do nothing to benefit the state once graduating. I can see how leaving a game in WMS allows many from across the state to attend & in the term "unites" the state & I can also see why fans are pissed because the hogs are continuing to play at WMS when they have Donald Reynolds Stadium which is a far superior venue. It's difficult

I support this decision as my mom lives in Fayetteville. It is a wonderful place in my opinion and I love going back

Dale, folks can get 'shite faced' where ever they want to, golf course, country club, Dickson Street, Saline River bottoms... that doesn't play into anything. And don't act like NWA folks don't get shite faced too.

That 'small portion' was at one time the huge majority portion of the fanbase, the football program couldn't have survived without them. That's why games were in LR to begin with, weren't enough folks in the hills that would come to a game for them to make money.

Now, there's enough folks in the hills, they don't need Central Ark and South Ark or East Ark money. Plain and simple. And they will be getting less and less of the total from there.

There's too many options for entertainment these days, and let's face it - a football game is 'entertainment'.

With the advent of ESPN, big screen high def TV's, etc., a lot of folks are starting to make the choice of sitting at home (or gathering at friends house) saving a shite-ton of money in gas, tickets and for some, lodging, getting a MUCH superior view of the game (70,000 seats in Fayetteville and at least 20,000 of them suck). Plus instead of just sitting there listening to commercials on the Super Duper Jumbotron during those DAMN TV timeouts, you can run to the john and be back in plenty of time, go fix you a sandwich and be back in time...

It's getting to the point that staying home and watching is superior in many ways to actually going. True, there's nothing like the atmosphere of being at the game, but in all other aspects - too many reasons to skip that long drive and expense any more.

I didn't say they did or didn't.

There is a large portion of people who's only purpose for the games being at WMS is to get shitfaced on the golf course, they do not even enter the stadium. This does not occur on that scale at home games.

The states center of population is now in Russellville anyway.

WMS will be lucky to get the FCS opponent after this contract expires, and they should be damn thankful to get that, but NO, they already bitch about the opponents not being good enough for them to attend...
