Official tailgate fare of the Ole Miss Rebals (per the SECRant).

Because it's true. The Grove is too packed to have any kind of real cooking going on so I guess you have to do what works best. These are some pics from when Southern Living picked Ole Miss as the best tailgating. Nothing but grocery store grub.

That's one of our favorites too, but I get leery about dishes like that after a few hours of sitting out.

(I'm also not the best at remembering to put things back in the cooler right before the game.)

I love a good seasoned cochon de lait made in a Cajun microwave on gameday.

We tailgate in a beautiful and world renowned landmark where there are fire hazards: trees, grass, tents, and drunk people having fun. Therefore, no live cooking equipment is allowed.

Sorry we don’t tailgate in a parking lot. But it looks awesome.

Either that or you get our there early with a smoker and you start smoking ribs at like 8 in the morning. By the time the 11 ocklock little sisters of the poor and big ten games kickoff you have the bbq smell wafting and you can wrap your ribs or even pull them off.

I’ll then throw on some Vernon or manda sausage and some of Billy’s smoked boudin.

In addition my wife makes a smoked boudin dip:
3 links boudin taken out of the casing and browned
Add one brick of cream cheese and continue to cook down until it’s all mixed and even
Serve with your favorite cracker or chip, but beware, it must be sturdy. None of this aTm/Mexican cantina style brittle bullshite

Calling the grove a "world renowned landmark" is a bit of a stretch for something that's not even a top 10 college football landmark

That I personally cook? Gumbo, jambalaya and smoked ribs and/or pork shoulder.

did you really find a picture from a baseball game tailgate and think that's the norm of LSU tailgating?

LSU tailgates on green space all over campus. They just don't cram all their fans in the same tiny open space and stack tents on top of each other.

The Grove is the most overrated tailgating spot in America. It's not bad but severely overrated.

If Arkansas wanted to tailgate on the Old Main grounds it would be the same thing with the same distance to the stadium.

Saying that it is the best thing about Oxford but again that isn't saying much at all.
