No, its relatively well known how it started.
Anthony Dixon interview. Mind, most people haven't been around the Rant for the 8 years necessary to recall it, but its been a thing ever since then.

Did you just ignore the link I posted? It answers your question. Along with quite a few referencing the Boobie Dixon interview.

Here it is
MaroonZoom is none other than me you're welcome. Pox and I, with a few others, got him to do one for Auburn too. Auburn was the first school the GrindKrieg was unleashed on in 2012? maybe. It worked so well on them that we decided to unleash it on aTm in 2013 then LSU in 2014. After our run to #1 no one wanted to get Grinded because that was your kiss of death. Then Alabama happened
To my knowledge we never unleashed it on a east school cause those were always easy wins. It was always a West team.

Well, I'm sure we wouldn't be disappointed in you asking him to assist with LSU this year... We need the magic again.

If I recall correctly the A&M grind was the first Anti/Reverse Grind. As nobody wanted to grind an Aggie. They begged for it to the point of being totally grinded by themselves. tGrind works in strange and mysterious ways.
Nothing beats the Auburn Grind of 12' in my opinion. That was a complete shitstorm and stashed away deep in tRant lore.

I have no idea how that originated.
Something they stole from the Memphis Grizzles.

There weren't Grizzlies fans more than a handful of years ago.

Was his name Anthony White? Post game comment in 2009?

Grizz fans and their revisionist histories; 'Grit and Grind' for the Grizz arose from a Tony Allen post-game interview in his first year in Memphis-- specifically, from his post-game on February 8th, 2011, which he has since said was to take a jab at Rudy Gay.

Anthony Dixon predated that by about 2 years, and State fans used it quite widely, albeit not at traditional Grindfest levels long before Tony Allen used it to take a shot at Rudy Gay.

Oh that is exactly the way it happened y'all still were suffering from Stockholm Syndrome pretty bad in 2013 and begged for it so you wouldn't feel left out. It was one of the smaller Grind but y'all were so upset that we didn't pour the same effort into it that we did Auburn the year before that y'all reverse grinded yourselves.

2010 Tony Allen called the Fed-Ex Forum the Grind House and popularized Grizz, Grit, Grind.
