Richt never won the Rose Bowl, never made the playoffs, and never took us to a National Championship game. But you're right, Kirby hasn't done anything Richt didn't do...

Kirby scares the hell out of Saban. Richt did not.

Garbage...played for a NC and signed 2 top 3 classes in consecutive years.

Next years roster will have 60+ blue chips...something CMR never approached

No he just won 2 Sugar Bowls instead. The only reason you played in the Rose Bowl was the anomaly of the playoffs. The real Rose Bowl game is Pac 12 vs B1G.

never made the playoffs

didn't exist for 87% of his tenure at Georgia but if it did he would have been in it a few times (see 2002, 2012, maybe 2007)

never took us to a National Championship game

this only matters if you win. You didn't and finished #2 which is something that Richt also managed to do

Doesn't change the fact that Richt never got destroyed like 40-17. And how soon we forget the 2016 season. Vandy remembers...

They both had two opportunities to make the playoffs. Kirby made it, Richt couldn't.

To say making the NCG only matters if you win is assinine. You can't win the NC if you aren't in the NCG.

for sure you can see the problem with such reasoning though? The most important year for Kirby is next season. Can he not suffer any drop off?

Richt didn't get his arse beat 40-17? I sure am glad Richt is gone.

I'm sure you are. Richt also didn't take us to the national Championship game.

Uh oh.

Yeah, because Richt would have never gotten us to the game.

Playoffs, National Championship Game, #1 Recruiting class, and Rose Bowl are four things that pop into my head immediately.

I agree with you.

Kirby is either better right now.
Or Kirby's staff is better (which is one of the primary jobs of the head coach).

Either way you look at it... Kirby is better than the early Richt.

Both dropped the big one when given the chance to win it all. That legacy is with all those not named Dooley.
