Anyone from the Southeast whining about crime in Chicago from a visiting/livability perspective is off the reservation
If you want to trash the politics of Chicago, fine by me, but that is also true for all of the southern cities with similar problems.

Not at all true. Talking inside 285Virginia Highlands and Vinnings are still very nice. As are parts on Inman Park, Decatur, Druid Hills, Sandy Springs and Little 5 Points.
