When deciding who gets a flawed spot showing what your capable of as a ceiling more important than the reasons your battling for a flawed spot. Smu has nothing as a celing. Nothing and the 6-6 teams they played were horrible compared to Vandy and ou neither of which would be 6-6 in ACC

It's amazing how Alabama fans don't want to discuss that game in any kind of detail. It was just a loss to a so so team and they sorta cram it in with the Vandy loss as if those were the same.
Just listened to a Bama pod where the two guys were like: Who has SMU beaten? Fair point.
But then "and okay. We lost to a couple of average teams, but it's not like the majority of SMU's opponent were better."
It's not about whether they played someone better, did they lose to someone like that? No. They did not. And they sure didn't lose to anyone like that by thee touchdowns.
We're two weeks removed from Alabama getting down 21 points and not even having any kind of answer or putting up a fight to make the game respectable. If it had been close, I'd fully side with them. It's not egregious if they put them in, but man talk about sidestepping around the elephant in the room (no pun intended).
I do give the guys credit as they did say no Bama fan should be irate if they are not in the playoff. They did it to themselves.
