I think he owns the REC, I honestly don't think records would play into it.
It would have to be a scandal. Maybe get caught on video making racist comments out of context, something like that.
He'd try to barricade himself in, but I think the national heat would be too much.
I don't think he'd get caught like that, though; I seem to remember him making Coonass jokes shortly after he landed at Alabama, and that kind of flared up over here. Didn't hurt his career over there, but I think he learned his lesson about using jokes etc after that.

Which means he can leave at anytime and owe the University nothing.
However, if the UA administration decides they no longer need his services, they are on the hook for the entire amount owed him on the current terms.
Last time I added it up it was about $65-70 million.
