I bet Coach34 wouldn't even look him in the eye.

I've shaken his hand before- and told him that it was ok if Phil Turner and Augustus played at the same time- it wasnt against the rules. He just smiled, signed the ball for my kid, and went about his business

Excuse me. I hate the fact that he is our coach. I always have. I hate watching his teams play. I hate the effort he gets from players. I hate how he doesn't command respect. I hate how stupid his offense is. I hate how clueless his players act. I hate how his lack of coaching ability makes the analysts look down on our program. I hate wanting us to lose so that we can get a good coach. I don't think Coonass hates him either. He just hates the same things that I do.

Fair enough.

Maybe it's just me, but I always take into consideration(ever since Tyrone and SPS) that my posts will be read by whomever and only in the context of that one post. Based on the way you've posted about Stans, I get the feeling you would put a steel toe boot in his nutsack given the chance.

So SEC tournament champs or he's gone in other words.

ETA: Unless y'all beat UK. Then all it would take is one or two wins in the tournament.

Not at all. I would want to ask him a few questions, like why can't you get a player in shape after three years? Why don't your players listen to you during timeouts. Why do you only talk to your team for 10% of a timeout? Why won't you hire a good assistant? Why do you have four people standing still on offense the majority of the time? Why do you think you are always an underdog when good teams are cocky and go for the jugular? Can I come to practice one day and show you how to beat a zone? I could go on for days, but I would never want to hit him. I am a grown arse man, not some dude wearing Ed Hardy at Rick's Cafe Americana.

They still get in with an at large if they get to 9-7 in conference and win at least one SECT game.

I think 8-8 in conference puts them on the wrong side of the bubble though. Our game in Coleman will have serious postseason ramifications.

So as a Bama fan, should I root for or against the Dawgs. I think Stans is slimy personally but he has been very effective against my team. He recruits way beyond what I would consider good talent to Starkville but at times I am not sure how well he controls his team.

Bama under Grant does not seem to have that problem but we sure have our share of others at the moment. I think you better have a coach in place if you are going to replace him. It will be difficult to produce better teams than CRS has at MSU. His success has been real in terms of his record.

I don't see how you can fire the most successful coach in your programs history for doing the things that made him your most successful coach...

Rumor is Bailey Howell is running the search committee and is close friends with Jeff Van Gundy. Jeff was seen in Starkville eating a MugShot burger earlier in the day.

Word is that Jeff only wants to coach for about 3 more years, so if we can get an assistant to be a coach in waiting(supposedly Shaka - thus thread title), he would agree.

Exciting times!!!1

Unfortunately, "most successful coach" does not equal "good coach" in this circumstance. It's not like we have a good history to be better than. We can be satisfied with getting decent talent and shitty basketball and being on the bubble or we can try to do something good. Not making the tournament will not hurt my feelings with another coach. We have to try something.

The internet will esplod if we beat Kentucky Tuesday. Happy state fans versus ones who are pissed that Stans saved his job.
