What would it take for Miles to get fired?

The Rant notwithstanding, it doesn't seem like Miles is the right person for the LSU job. With the talent that LSU brings in every single year, they should be competing for national championships every year.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side of course (UF, UT, etc) but one would think that LSU has enough resources to snag an elite head coach.

More than what we've seen so far IMO.
And I ask in all honesty, who would they bring in that they feel can do more than Miles has done to this point? If there's not a definitive answer to that question then I don't see them cutting bait.

My fear is Miles leaves and we bring in someone like Houston Nutt.

Agreed. But at the same time, they are willing to settle for "just good enough" out of fear of being worse.

Something is off.
Nights like last night shouldn't happen.
We didn't even compete.

To paraphrase Edwin Edwards--it would take Miles being caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy to be fired....though the want may be real.

I will say this. I would be willing to wait a year with Miles to see what happens as this young team grows and not have to compete with Florida and Michigan in a coaching search.
And there's always the chance that Michigan comes calling and saves LSU the trouble anyway (not saying he goes, just saying there's the possibility).
I don't think I'd cut bait right now either.

LSU fan's mottos have become "Just wait until NEXT year!"
How many more next years are the right number?

Lose out the rest of this season, then a repeat performance next season and I still don't know if he would be fired.

He would need to get caught banging a Golden Girl.

He must have been caught by Jennings since he wont let harris play.

A different AD. What would it take to get a different AD? Considering the overall success he has had with all the programs at LSU, some scandal like the Duke LaCrosse team allegations.

He resigns way before he gets fired imo

Uh no, that's just not reality. If you would have said every 2-4 years, then, sure. But with the constant turn over in talent each year that's just not true. Sure they should have years in a row where the roster lines up for continuous success but every year isn't rational.
I really don't see anyone else, out there, who could do a better job at LSU than Miles.
