Sims hasn't played much but his throwing mechanics are awful.

If Sims is such a terrible QB, why did Saban keep him there? I don't disagree that Sims may not be that good compared to recent Bama QBs BUT to make definitive statements like:
If Sims is the QB Bama will for sure lose game x,y and z is uninformed BS.

Surely, Saban hasn't recruited that badly at QB for the last 3 years.

We have

2010 - Two Sims - One transferred, one is an "athlete"

2011 - Ely - Weak year for QB's especially in the South. At some point we recruited Kessler Driskel Bridgewater and Miller. Went with Ely, should have went with Coker

2012 - Swung and missed on Winston/Kiel. Morris was a scramble for a guy who was a big stretch. Some people thought Nuss might bring Cyler Miles with him (especially since if we were going to run some zone read like UDUB did)

2013 - Bateman was nationally rated a lot higher when we recruited him than we signed him. Didn't perform that well in competition and guys moved over him.

A lot of it has to do with the differing philosophies of the three different offensive coordinators we've had under Saban.

Applewhite - Balanced, wanted dual threat QBs. Was not a big fan of AJ apparently.

McElwain - Liked bigger pocket passers for his power pass offense. Hence Sims, his fascination with Cody Kessler at one point, and him not going full on at Jameis.

Nussmeier - Likes pocket mobility in his QBs. Statues like Morris will not be a factor in his plans.

This season will be as close to a rebuilding year as it gets in Bammer. The iron bowl was basically the passing of the torch to Auburn for dominance in bama. This next season and maybe a couple of more Bammer will be struggling with Ole Miss for third in the west. While LSU and auburn fight it out for first. Breaking in a new QB and your uncertainty at coach right now will have a lot of gumps feeling insecure. My advice is to find out the number of the local suicide hotline and tape it to the fridge door, you will thank me one day.

A literal last second victory means this?

I just know that I've read this on this board before multiple times since 2008...

No, ours has real game experience. He played a good bit of the Arkansas game when Mett got hurt early and basically won the game for us.

And it starts. Now that's its post/off-season, he's no longer a game manger but the only reason we won.

He did a great job of "managing games" because he never turned the ball over. Always played smart and calm. Perfect QB for Saban.

And if Blake Sims starts... 2-3 losses.

Sadly, I agree.
