A better than average sec back on an average sec team with a poor 1 dimensional offense which allowed teams like Bama to pin their ears back and tee off on him.

Freakish power and speed, very good north, south runner with average vision.

Played in an era and conference that contained the best football team and coach in history.

Overall did not live up to the hype, which is not his fault.

As for as character, for a young kid who got so much attention, I think he handled it well overall.

Actually Derrick Henry did and won the Heisman

Except for the part where Fournette was better in almost every category outside of the number of games played. 2k in 15 games.. Fournette had 1950+ in 12.

Henry did set the SEC record for most rushing attempts in a season though.

There isn't really a debate here. The stats aren't close and they are heavily in favor of LF7.

I think he is one of the biggest disappointments in decades. He is a quitter, a thug, and an arrogant jerk into self-promotion and cannot deliver when his team needs him. I also will resent him for his no-show no-effort vs. Wisconsin which did more to damage the SEC than realized at the time.

Probably for having the best single season all-time for an SEC running back

Yeah, all those yards LF1.7 put up against St Mary's School for the Blind were truly impressive.

But you're right in one respect, there is no debate. In big games against stout defenses, Henry shined. He put the team on his back and pounded out tough yards. Fournette, on the other hand, disappeared from the biggest stages.

I will remember him being a very, very freakish athlete. He was however not a generational running back. He was a good running back that dominated bad defenses who couldn't tackle him and was shut the frick down by every elite defense he played against.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time you've completely flipped your opinion to go with the SECr narrative. Your schtick is getting old.

I will be rooting for Fournette. I'm a big fan of his but Watson is the better football player imo. I think he has a cakewalk to the trophy if he plays like he did last year.

LSU has a really good chance at winning the conference because the defense *might* be elite again. If their defense can be top notch then they will have enough offense to be in a position to win every game on the schedule. Having Fournette is just icing on the cake. I understand the optimism by corndog fans and I agree with it.

That despite being a very good player, the overhype still qualifies him as overrated

Honestly, I won't remember him at all. He was a non factor against us. Hell, Cameron Artis Payne and Jalen Hurd were bigger problems.

Henry schooled him when they went head to head.
Henry had 2000+ and your boy didn't.
Henry has the trophy and the rings and L7F didn't even come close.
Your team sucks.
You suck. Grow up.

I'll remember him for being an excellent way to show how ignorant the average fan is. All these fools that think a high ankle sprain is no big deal and should be easy to play through are a sad examples of a lazy society that happily remains willfully ignorant of basic facts that are easy to learn.

2000 in 15 games vs 1953 in 12

Fournette had the best season ever in the SEC and it's really not even a debate.
