Stop and think though. Does that mean that no former assistant will ever beat Saban? I mean, that doesn't have an effect on the game.

Bama ain't dominating UGA. They are similar teams.
Both teams are run-first teams with good defenses. I think UGA had the bigger challenge in the 1st playoff game and UGA hasn't had a NC in 38 years, so I give the edge to them with them playing in ATL and no recent revenge factor for either team really.

Saban's former assistants couldn't field an offense

The Sooners had quite a bit of success running the ball against Georgia. Is that because OU's running back is all-World, or because of Mayfield's play, or because of a less than stellar Ga run stopping defensive line ? Bama will run on Georgia. You can bank on it.

It remains to be seen if Georgia can run on Bama.

They did, but Bama has nowhere near the passing attack that OU had. UGA will be locked in on the run game and containing Hurts on the ground. Bama runs on everyone to an extent, but if LSU held them to 3.2 ypc, I think UGA can contain them pretty well too looking at their D.

It's because of Mayfield's play. The end. If you can force Georgia into two deep safeties, Georgia isn't as good vs the run on defense and really that's been a shaky scheme period for Georgia on defense.

UGA is exhausted. Last week's game was so demanding, physically and emotionally. Bama is rested and merely had a scrimmage last week. In the second half Bama will run at will...

I think you're underestimating UGA. They had a week off like usual between games and they're playing in the NC game. I think they'll be ok.

Saban is the GOAT and your head coaches mentor, who by the way, has NEVER lost to a former assistant.

So Saban > Kirby? Does that mean Bama's entire coaching staff is better top to bottom than UGA's?

Go look at Bama’s last 4 recruting classes and UGA’s last 4 recruiting classses. I’ll wait.

High school ecruiting rankings from 4 or 5 years ago don't strike me as having a whole lot of bearing on the talent or production of a 4th or 5th year senior playing in this game. If you want to go back and rerank both rosters based on what each player has or hasn't done, be my guest.

For example, former 5* and #1 overall player Da'shawn Hand is by all accounts a solid college player but hasn't lived up (yet) to his lofty HS ranking. Meanwhile, Roquan Smith was a 4* LB out of HS and is now a unanimous All American and considered the best LB in the country.

Both defenses are going to force both QBs to throw to win. You're focusing on the wrong matchups; what matters are Bamas receivers versus UGA's DBs and vice versa. Those matchups favor Bama both ways going into the game so what does UGA do to find an edge offensively? We've been very successful this year at softening the edges of a defense with toss sweeps and swing passes to Chubb and Michel

Both offenses are incredibly similar with QBs that can run an RPO if needed, great backs, and a decent passing game. Difference to me is that Bama's receivers are the more talented of the bunch.
