Petrino had some pretty successful years and had Arky on the rise. Here on the rant everyone seemed to want him back in a heartbeat. So the question becomes, will Arkansas fans have a meltdown if Petrino is hired in Auburn? Especially if Arkansas hires a nobody

There would be no more fitting end to petrino's football coaching career than for him to win you a bunch of games and get tied up in a booster scandal paying players.

Petrino doesn't pay players. Otherwise his recruiting classes wouldn't be shitty and he would be unstoppable

Yea something tells me that when the auburn boosters offer to pay some player petrino won't have an ethical revelation. We were still on probation I think, gotta watch out for that repeat offender clause.

At least that godly facade will finally die- that's a plus.

Who says Arkansas will hire a nobody? I can tell you this, I trust their AD searching for a new HC than I do Jay Jacobs. Arkansas fans have just as much right to despise Petrino as all the Auburn fans bagging on Chizik. In fact more so even.

Honestly I think it's funny that the same Auburn fans that argued nonstop that Chizik should be ahead of Petrino in the offseason coaching rankings over the past few years are now falling all over themselves to hire him. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Arkansas will not hire a nobody Jeff Long has too much riding on this hire. When you fire a 21-5 Coach you better make sure you replace him with a winning one. I'm a Petrino "HUGGER" Love him(hate what he did)I think everyone deserves the right to correct their wrong. I've become friends with one of his daughters by reaching out to her during the early days after he was fired.

I want CBP to coach again I was hoping it would not be in the SEC or at least be in the EAST..UT or UK. I really don't want Auburn to be my 2nd favorite team but I will cheer for any team he coaches except when he plays MY HOGS.

If Auburn hires Petrino you will be getting a great coach and possibly the best coaching years of his career, I think he'll be a better coach because of what has happened.

I already have a pretty low opinion of Auburn's ethics.

But I also think eventually it will burn you. People don't change.

Personally, I won't give a hot frick. We will hire who we hire and you as well. Petrino or not, I hope we beat you guys every year. He screwed us over by lying and betraying trust. For that he no longer deserved the dignity of being head hog. My concern for him ended then and there. I wish him or your program no ill will other than at least one loss per year, hopefully from us.

You realize that is a dig against Arkansas as well, right?

Eh, not really. We fired him just 7 months ago for some pretty egregious character flaws. You're the ones talking about hiring him.

Motorcycle sales are up in the Greater Auburn/Opelika Metropolitan Area. I'm not sure the correlation.

Yeah I get that, but you also hired him with some pretty bad character flaws. You know the people don't change thingy...

Not really. Petrino's biggest flaw according to the media was the fact that we hired him.

He really only got hammered on for leaving Atlanta. Before that, jetgate, but jetgate was tiny compared to the Atlanta deal.

After the fact, people were constantly saying things personally about him, but there wasn't anything but anecdotes, really.

Turns out he really is a pretty miserable human being.

He's a good coach, or at least he was before counseling, et al. His family is pretty jacked up by all accounts, which is understandable when you are a complete bag of dog-shite as a man.

Auburn would be a good fit for, him though.

He actually evaluates the players he offers/wants. He doesn't go to rivals and see the stars. Your awesome classes have made yall one of the worst teams in the country.

Under BP, we made it to number 3 in the country. Do stars matter? Yes, for 99% of coaches, not BP.

He can definitely develop talent and call plays.

I have wondered if he really can reconcile being a decent person with being a hard-arse, results-driven coach.

According to sources I spoke to really close (in, actually) the athletic department, Dorrell was just one of many in a long line of fricked up behavior. Players have some stories.
