Amazing how both plays didn’t involve the opposing team ever touching the ball and both fans bases try and claim victory.
I don't know what "both plays" refer to but if you are talking about the Arkansas game, by rule Nix muffed the snap, picks up the ball and throws it down backwards behind the line of scrimmage, which is a fumble Arkansas recovered, and so they would have had the ball with 28 seconds left. Even the SEC office admitted the next week that the officials screwed up. On the field, Arkansas won that game.

A friend of mine who officiates NCAA football cited to me the above section. He gave me the following explanation and how he would have ruled on the play.
For it to have remained a live ball after crossing the goal line , Shivers had to possess and then fumble the ball or batted the ball. Both would have changed the impetus of the kick. The mere grazing or inadvertent contact with the ball would not automatically change the impetus of the ball but COULD be a judgment call and reviewed unless an official ruled the play a touchback and dead. He further stated that once the official blew the play dead after it crossed the goal line, it could not be reviewed because the play was ruled a touchback. In his opinion, the impetus of the ball never changed even after contact with Shiver's pinky so the moment the ball crossed the goal line, it was an AUTOMATIC touchback. Prior to the rule changes, the receiver had to field the ball in the end zone because a ball beyond 10-yards was considered live. The changes were made for player-safety. He added that the official likely did not see Shivers make contact with the ball, which is why he blew it dead once the ball rolled past the goal line.
This really isn't that hard to understand.

which is a fumble Arkansas recovered,
After the whistle was blown. No replay can overturn that.

No, Auburn still won the game. It's cute that all the Bama fans are white knighting for them, though. Still kind of sad, though.

and which the SEC admitted was a mistake
It isn't the first time the SEC office admitted the official screwed up, but most times it's in the course of a game, and so the outcome isn't necessarily affected. In this case, there were 28 seconds left, and if the official hadn't screwed up it would be Arkansas ball. Game over

If my aunt had a dick, she'd be my uncle too. shite happens every year, every game. As a Bama fan, you should know that. I think it's pretty sad that anybody is still worried about a couple of meaningless games over a month ago.

Coming from a state fan. That ball absolutely 100% hit the auburn guys hand. Slow it down and watch the auburn receivers pinky finger bend backwards.
Also, frick Auburn. Bunch of cheating scam artist.

Agreed it hit his hand, but that 100% doesn’t matter.

It....it bent the auburn returners finger 45 degrees backwards and an ole miss player recovered the ball in the end zone.
Are you stupid or just stupid?
There is something called a whistle in college football. After it is blown the play stops. Even DA Rebs should know that.

There were two whistles on that play. One by the back judge followed by another whistle by the side judge. Bitch all you want but play was stopped on two actions on that play.

Do you have a life, outside of football?

I did see video of the Auburn player fielding a kick off and the ball glanced off his leg. Had Ole Miss just scored or was that the 2nd half kickoff?
Here is a video of it. It was a pretty bad call. Watch all the way through and it shows the ball hitting his finger clearly.

Hey, I get it, but 1,000 whistles being blown would not change that it was just a bad call. They happen to every school at some point. It was just unfortunate that it happened when it happened.

This. Do we even have a football season anymore? How are people still bitching about this?
