Only one I can think of would be Taylor's Pub. They sell them out the back of their bar and there's nothing wrong with them. I've bought them several times.

You just probably got a bad stash

I never had them at Larry's when I was in school but there was another bar right beside where funky's is that served them in the spring. Can't forget I have forgotten the name of the bar . It let 18 year olds in and had a patio and bar downstairs too.

If you are looking for something on the nicer side to eat, you can't beat City Grocery or 208. Hope you enjoy your weekend, hopefully the weather is beautiful like the last few years.

There's no way he can get reservations to either of those locations this weekend.

It's North MS. Why would they have good crawfish. FWIW, all the live crawfish in Oxford is shipped up from LA, so it's all about who is cooking them and how they are cooking them. I have had good crawfish in both MS and LA, but I don't see Oxford claiming to have good crawfish

Some of them are from LA, but not all. And regardless of where they are from, they aren't very fresh and lack size. Sometimes, RARELY, but sometimes, people cook a good batch. I have pretty much given up trying them though because I hate the disappointment of a bad crawfish after building it up in my head.

Size is usually small, but it's all about who/how they are cooked. FWIW, I have had bad crawfish in LA as well. Inexperienced crawfish boilers aren't something to be taken lightly.

I wish I could recommend anything in oxford but I cant. I went there 3 years ago with my wife so she could interview with the pharmacy school. Im glad we arent living in Oxford because I wouldve gone crazy being there for 4 years. The campus is gorgeous but other than that I was bored as hell being there. I got to the point where I got excited to see a bowling alley and as I walked up to the door my excitement was shattered when I noticed it had been closed for 3 years.

There are 3 places I hope to never go to again in my life due to being bored out of my mind while there:
Oxford, MS
Monroe, LA
Fort Walton, FL

Crawfish size is overrated when you're being charged by the pound.......which is in most, if not all, cases.

You and your wife must suck if you were that bored. Do you not like going out to eat or going to bars? I can find stuff to keep me entertained in even the worst towns. And bored in Ft. Walton? No golfing, fishing, eating, or drinking? You sound pretty high maintenance

I hate it when people knock on Oxford and the tings that happen here when they either haven't been here or didn't know what to do when they did visit.

i love this. no one can just not like oxford. there has to be something wrong with them not the city.
