What should be the penalty for Vitello running into the umpire?

The guy acts like he's on steroids. He's out of control and has been for quite some time.
A permaban? I mean, this isn't the WWE.
What message does it send that the coach of a high-profile college baseball program intentionally runs into the umpire and nearly knocks him off his feet.
If this is where we're headed in society, we're all in big trouble.
I'm really curious to know how many here think this is in any way acceptable behavior.

He will get 1 game. The ump flopped as well. But at no circumstances should an ump be touched regardless of how small it was.

Listening I radio. What was he even upset about to get him and pitching coach tossed. He will likely get suspended for game r two

He will get a hefty suspension from the league. You can argue all you want, but making any type of contact with a league official will be a multiple game thing IMO.

Vitello is a good coach, but he is a POS and makes it known. His ball club is cocky, which is fun and all until you see stuff like what he did today, or how he acted against Arkansas...then you realize that team is just a bunch of twats.

An extension and pay raise.

Vitello ran into him going full speed. Normally a manager will stop as he gets to the ump and maybe give him a little bump.
Not Vitello, he never even slowed down. The ump did well to stay upright (after stumbling back about 5 steps).

Their brand of ball isn’t sustainable at any level in baseball.

Liked Vitello when he was on DVH's staff. Great recruiter and on field coach. He's seemed to become a bit of a douche though. Maybe his way of getting his players fired up but sometimes that comes back to bite you.

They gonna make an example out of him. Those old dudes at the NCAA have been waiting for a reason to get after TN for acting like a bunch of 13 year olds.

I'm interested in seeing what Tennessee does. The NCAA needs to make an example and give him the harshest penalty within its powers.
What will Tennessee do? What if the Vols were 3-31 instead of 31-3? He'd probably be fired the next day.

The ump is twice his size. Vitello 150 pounds. Come on now.

Maybe this will help get our spark back

Typically the NCAA won’t take the weights of the two into account here. Interesting take though.

What I say that’s as the true. I agreed at no point should an official be touched no matter how small or big. But let’s not act like Vitello at 150 pounds can send a ref flying 10 feet that has 50 pounds on him at least.
