The vast majority of professionals I meet that are Bama fans did not attend Bama. As a matter of fact, several attended other SEC schools
I have a friend that was a 4-year letterman in basketball at an SEC school. Alabama football fan

Probably about 80%. Anybody who picks a higher number is missing the fact that lots of sidewalk fans have a connection to a person who did attend. Parents, siblings, kids, grandparents, etc. I have a sidewalk fan for a sister. She never attended Vanderbilt but she's surrounded by people who did, and it's just ridiculous to look down on someone for supporting your team even if they never attended. It's not like most of us who did attend actually played on the team ourselves, so we're basically sidewalk fans as well. Handing in a paper in semiotics doesn't mean you somehow contribute directly to the team's performance in the next game.

Poll doesn’t take into account all of the Bama/Auburn fans without computers/Facebook.

so? this is about percentages. WE don't have many fans. it is a ratio. English major or did you attend?

Maybe 10% max for every fanbase.

I’m not a fighter nor do I like stirring up trouble. Due to a condition, however, I am noise sensitive. Shrill sounds like the Whistler go straight to my core and if they continue can result in over the top reactions. If he didn’t stop I’d be forced to rip out his larynx. And no one would stop me. Not that I’m a badass or anything. I just mean no one would want me to stop. In fact, I would imagine most would line up behind me for their shot at that biatch.

Don't know about a percentage but I earned my degree in 4 1/2 years from the Capstone. Changing my major cost me a semester.

Probably 75% of our fan base much like other schools. I do have a coworker that likes Michigan and Notre Dame but went to neither. That shite drives me nuts. Be a fan of one or the other

Bama and Auburn have roughly the same number of living alumni
How is this information gathered/tracked? I attended Alabama (but did not complete my degree there) and am therefore a living alumnus, so I'm curious - how will the trackers of this information know when I pass away?

Also depends, do you mean the actual university of Alabama or do you mean in The University of Alabama system, it Texas a&m system and so on.

Yup. Ole Miss was good at football during the integration era and made a massive push against segregation (they had to bring in the National Guard). Thus, old rednecks loved them. Those old rednecks pass down the love for "their school" to their children and them to their children, etc. So you have a bunch of uneducated white trash hicks that absolutely love Ole Miss due to the perception of what they think it stands for.
The irony is that those "white trash" folks are more likely to have regular interaction with non Whites than the White elites. They certainly are more likely to attend public schools and live near around or near non Whites. Nothing more disgusting than a virtue signalling White person who pretends he is better than someone else because of his education and income. I am a proud alum of UA, but I cherish our sidewalk alums! Very grateful for their support of my school.

I just wish I’d gone to cooking school
One of dreams as a kid was to be a chef
Now I’m will Ferrell in the LEGO movie, President Business, it’s probably not near as fun

I wish I had retired at 25....And devoted my life to CFB and chasing women... Well, I did pursue the second one more... After a few divorces that got VERY expensive!

No division here.... They got everything and I got out.....Upon retrospective I did OK.... I became the Lone Ranger in many towns... When I left they asked “ Who was that masked man ?”

I didn't go to Fayetteville, I did go to college tho and I probably spent more time at the hog basketball games when I was in college than about 2/3 of the actual students at Fayetteville.
So, ain't never gonna give a flyin poo about the sidewalkers comments personally.
Same, I've talked about this before, but it's such a shitty argument for "validating" fanhood. Lacks any empathy for how or where people may have grown up.
My family has had season tickets to LSU since 1996. I went to probably 25 games during my 4 college years despite living 12 hours away from Baton Rouge. I've been in attendance for the 2003, 2007, and 2011 National Championships. I've cheered on every LSU sport, male or female, my entire life. If never setting foot in a classroom makes me less of a "fan", then frick me.
