I don't believe any Gator fan believes this. We have Zook to thank most recently for this fact.

Maybe not all of them, but many do.

You could probably reverse that on Vols fans and say the same about us and tradition.

We'll disagree on that one. The 12 smart Gator fans I know don't believe Zook would have ever turned the corner despite excellent classes.

Please. Come on,man. If you want to dog Auburn sports,go for it. But don't carry on like Alabama is Harvard and Auburn is DeVry.

This is why a lot of Alabama fans despise Auburn. I'll readily admit that Alabama fans are arrogant as frick when it comes to our football program and I can see where that would be very annoying to Auburn and other fans. However, Auburn people are every bit as arrogant towards Alabama when it comes to academics and I've never understood why. THEY are the ones who acutally believe what you quoted. I literally can't begin to count how many times they talk about random people not being able to get into Auburn that HAD to go to Alabama instead as if we're comparing MIT or Stanford to a community college. It's such a frickin laughable stance to take when you look at publication after publication that ranks each school dead even with each other but they're convinced that since their incoming students make a half point higher on average on their ACT that Auburn is Harvard and Alabama is a glorified trade school.

There's also this idea that many out of staters never hear about where Alabama is the "drug school" because we actually have a few places to go out at night unlike Auburn. This opposed to all the Auburn kids who would never take a drug or have pre-marital sex and at worst might sip on a beer from time to time. You've never met people with a more distorted view of their own self righteousness than many Auburn people. I love my Auburn friends to death but even some of the wilder ones have this idea rub off on them that the Auburn name can cleanse all sins and cure cancer. In short, I think the average Bama fan is more cynical and less idealistic than most Auburn fans who believe in their school in a naive, almost cultish way.

I phrased it wrong, though. I don't mean Gator fans think success is guaranteed, but I do feel like some of those I know feel like it's a birthright.

Being from Memphis I always hated how the University of Memphis would play Ole Miss in football but they would never play Memphis in hoops. Then during my highschool years as I had friends go off to college and my friends that went to Ole Miss ( for those of you who are not from memphis its kind of like 13th grade for Memphis highschool seniors) they all came back changed and had this attitude about them that I always hated so much. In school for 4 months and was a totally different person. That is why I hate Ole Miss.

Well it looks like you're a dumbass. Up until 4 or 5 years ago we played Memphis in basketball every year. They booted us from their schedule because they didn't think we were a worthy enough opponent, so we did the same to them in football.

He only went to school one semester. Not sure what his major was. You can't judge a whole school based on a short-timer transfer student.
