It is, but more because they are both tigers and because the games have been so great. For a while now that game has decided the west, even if neither team went to the SEC CG
I would say there is not really the "hate" as in a true rivalry

No I don't hate Auburn, it is just usually a very hard fought well played game.

It is in the sense that the game every year is very important, the games for teh most part are very competitive and close, and there has been crazy events/controversies that fuel the fire(1996) that make that game more of a rivalry than say AU/MSU or LSU/UF.
I got no beef with LSU. I may start cheering for them more this season.
Hot trim, best food in the SEC, cool atmosphere, Chinese Bandits, hate Bama...

Personally, even as an avid follower of the SEC for years. Ive always thought of LSU-Auburn as much more of a rivalry than UF-LSU. Guess i was wrong though.

You are not wrong.
Dont know what LSU fans think of UF but the UF fans I know dont consider LSU as much of a rival...they have UT, UGA, adn FSU well above anyone else...and USCe to a lesser extent.

Well I would put them over Florida because they are in the division, but most LSU fans get more exicited for a win over Bama and hold more hate for Bama for obivious reasons. For me if goes much farther back than when baby bear took over.

You seem to be very easily offended. Bama and LSU don't have enough day to day interaction and their certainly isn't the hate from Bama towards LSU to make it a rivalry full of hatred. Personally, I think a few SEC (especially AU, UT, and LSU fans) resent the hell out of the fact that Alabama didn't just fold up the tent and die off when we went in the crapper in the early to mid 00s after probation. Some assumed we were done for good.
My brother lives in N.O. and is constantly hearing condescending remarks from LSU fans towards Bama. He constantly hears about how the Sabans are itching to get back to Baton Rouge and how miserable they are in Tuscaloosa. He politely nods and it takes it. Those comments towards him started almost the moment Saban arrived on Bama's campus and still continues. He just politely agrees with them and privately shakes his head in amazement at how psycho they can be about the guy.
In other words, it works both ways.

Like I said my disdain for all things Bama goes back way before Saban. It comes from seeing them run on field with 120 players back in the day and you just no most of are bought and paid for by the good Ole boy system bear bryant had in place. To this day other than winning the national titles my best LSU win was the 82 team kicking the shite out of the tide in Bama. The Bear said it was the worst whipping he had in along time. 20-10 and the score really didn't illustrate how bad LSU dominated that day.

I have been an Alabama fan my entire life. I can truly say that I don't hate Auburn. I have many family members that are Bama fans and many that are Auburn fans. One of my best friends growing up was an Auburn fan.
Now, there are some that tick me off. The fans, from any school, that are out there saying so and so cheated or I know for a fact that "x" got money. All the while turning a blind eye when their own school has been accused of doing the same thing.
Yes, it pisses me off that my school has done that in the past and I hope that they have the leadership in place to prevent that from happening again, but I know it happens and not just at my school.
