What is the deal with A&M wanting to play on Thanksgiving?

They like to watch football while putting some meat in their mouth or is this some Aggie historic thing

Most of their families are not accepting of their lifestyle choices, so they literally have nothing else to do on that day.

They need to schedule Texas and play every year on Thanksgiving
It's tough playing a SEC opponent on Sat and turning around and playing A&M on thurs. LSU hated playing the Fri game against Arkansas as well.
LSU played the one game on Thanksgiving in College Station but haven't budged off the Sat game being in Tiger Stadium

My opinion is the Thanksgiving Day deal is something that was tied to UT. We don’t play that game any longer. I prefer playing LSU on that Saturday...shouldn’t force anyone into a ‘tradition’ we previously had with another school. If we ever resume the Texas game it should be earlier in the year prior to the conference slate beginning. I like the LSU game to finish off the year...just need some more wins to make it competitive.

I’ve always loved the Friday game myself but whatever- not too irked by it anymore.

If I was an LSU fan I would have hated it also. We grew up playing on Thanksgiving so it was a lot of fun. For anyone outside of A&M or Texass I definitely see how it would suck and be very disruptive to how you guys grew up and celebrated Thanksgiving.
