Bottom line: college football has to dominate the culture of either the entire state, or a huge portion of the state. This means Kentucky and Mizzou are not really part of the SEC culture. Miami is not a college town, but the northern half of Florida has a strong college following, so the Gators are SEC culture.

If most Mizzou followers care more about the Rams, Chiefs, Cardinals or Royals, then Mizzou is not a part of the SEC culture and will never fit in.

Do you fill your stadium every game? Do your fans travel well to bowl and away games? Do you get just as excited when you land a 5 star DT as when you land a 5 star QB?

Try the entire campus. Prepare to have your mind blown when you start traveling to our campuses.

Mizzou would end up playing Georgia. So I will get a feel for SEC culture by how many basketball fans you send to KC.

Don't get too excited.

For the tailgating thing, what time do you start cooking?

(this is a trick question, the DAY you start is needed as well)

Go frick yourself. We are in the top 25 in attendance for football every year.

Most SEC fans just can't comprehend caring about another sport in addition to football because they've never been good at anything else. And some have never even been good at that.

Basketball doesn't compute in terms of SEC culture... unless its UK basketball.

You must have a sad life. It would hurt me to spend 90% of my time on TD hating on a fan base/university like you hate on Auburn.

I really hope not, Rams home games look half empty most of the time.

I lol'd.

What is SEC culture you ask?

-Tailgating with your best friends 2 days before the game.
-Loud stadiums packed with 90,000+ fans with nearly that many outside the stadium watching on TV
-Offering fans of your most hated rival a beer as they walk by your tailgate
-The smell of Bourbon, BBQ, Jambalaya, and Gumbo on a cool saturday morning in the fall.
-Your whole town in a frenzy the night before a game
-Chanting "Tiger bait" "War Eagle" and "Roll Tide" as you walk through an airport seeing other SEC colors...then talking SEC sports with that person like you've known each other your whole life as you board the plane.
-Not being able to function at work or school the week of a big game.
-Hot womenz
-People who live and die for their schools

And, It's not a process. It's a way of life down here.

Easy. I actually cheer for UK basketball. What makes UK a cultural misfit in the SEC though is that you guys care much more about basketball than football. UK is the only team in the conference with this distinction. I am glad UK is in the SEC, but you must admit that you guys are outsiders, both geographically and culturally.
