Sounds like you are allowing the trolls to shape your opinion on what should constitute a successful season for Alabama.
11-2 should be viewed as successful. You can want more and it's not the pinnacle of success, but it has to at least be the baseline, right?

If going 11-2 is the same thing as winning 5 games, that sounds like a miserable fan experience...

At this point for UGA, I'm guessing anything short of a Natty would disappoint most Dawg fans,
I can't agree with that. Unless you're 2011-2020 bama I don't really think you can call a season a failure for not winning it all. I mean that's still a remarkably difficult thing to do that requires a ton to go right.
I DO think that where we are now we expect to mak ehte playoffs, so anything short of that wuld be considered unsuccessful. But I mean if we go 12-0 by adding more wins over AU/UF/UT/GT for the books, win our 15th SEC title over bama or LSU, but lose in the playoffs, I don't see how any rational thinking person would call that a failure. Especially considering a new QB, new OC, lots of new faces on the LOS, a rapidly worrisome RB depth chart, etc.

If you are talking the 2023 season only then I'd say 8 wins would show progress and be considered success.
If you are talking about what would be considered getting the program to a successful level, I think MU fans would consider a 10-win season and at least competing for a division championship or more (or playoff spot in the future) to be a success.
As moribund as most people think Mizzou's football program is we've had five 10+ win seasons since 2007 and twice were one win away from playing for a National Championship in that span. I realize that is nothing to the traditional powers, but you don't forget those things when you are setting overall expectations.

No, he's basically correct and it's a byproduct of what we've done since 2009. It's not realistic to win the natty every year of course but nobody that follows the Tide will consider a season without a championship successful, including 2022 with an SEC championship but a loss in the championship game. This will change if we start having more years like last year but it really is the truth for now, whether it's realistic or not. And I really don't believe Georgia fans don't feel the same way right now but I cold be wrong.

I was pleased with the 2022 season bc that team had alot of issues and was a result of alot of bad recruiting evaluations at WR, OL and the front 7 on D. Some bad coaching hires as well.

Losing in the playoffs against a team that was better than us would be a slight buzzkill.
Not making the playoffs would be disappointing.
Not making the SECCG would be a fricked up disaster.

If you're not going to list who you pull for, what does this even mean?

I'm sure you could find some that would be unrealistically disappointed, but I'd wager they are the same frickers who were posting Mark Richt "miss me yet" memes back in 2016.

I am a Kansas State fan. It was either BillSnyder4Life or Violent Hip Swivel and I chose Violent Hip Swivel.

Yes. Plenty. Even played wall ball a time or two.

Same boat as Ole Miss. 8+ wins is a successful season for UK.
Posted on 8/24/23 at 5:40 pm to themetalreb
I expect 6-8 wins. 9+ is a great season
Posted on 8/24/23 at 5:48 pm to themetalreb
Since the 80s 9-10 wins.
Which is why ten of the last twenty seasons have been considered unsuccessful.
