I love these Ole Miss fans talkin' shite with LSU fans - like they have done something in the last 20 yrs.
The Rebs have NOT YET even won the West - and likely won't again this season.
Do you realize no one in the SEC really takes Ole Miss seriously?

Wong, MSU seems that as peers.

At least MSU has played in the SECCG.

Only cuz mediocre Nutt couldn't manage to beat the worst overall program in the West to secure the spot. They were ranked 13th coming into the game, we were ranked 17th, true the game was @ MSU, but still the traditional whipping post of the SECW finally has a good year and can Arkansas step up? Not under Nutt. This game should have been a wake up and if he had won it I believe things would have turned out quite differently in Nutt's tenure at UA. 10-2 heading into the SECCCG in his first year in the SEC might have changed the entire course, but of course it was not to be, instead it was simply a harbinger of things to come , like Nutt's inordinate ability to lose back to back SEC games. Rarely does he follow one loss with a win.
No MSU was good that year, but they weren't some program that could claim to be better than OM based off that one single SECCG appearance.

It is one of those questions that is so unlikely to happen, I'd rather just wait till we get there to think about it. But since you're alright in my book, Dukester, I'll answer by saying that we should go with an up and comer who has proved himself as a great assistant or smaller school head coach. Big name signings rarely work out like you want them too.

GTFO with Dukester.
My post didn't justify a real response. I suggested co-head coaches...

I'll answer this question from a Bama perspective, if Saban were to leave for Penn State next year after Joepa secures the wins record, my list would be in no particular order...
Butch Davis- always thought he was a hell of a coach, before we got Saban, I was upset we missed out on him.
Bud Foster- The man can flat out put together a defense, I think he would need to be teamed with an excellent off. coordinator however.
Turner Gill- Auburns miss could be our gain. Did amazing things at Buffalo last year with inferior talent even for the MAC. Having a black coach at Alabama would be a huge news story whether it should or not.
David Cutcliffe- A little too close to Mike Shula's personality but he wouldn't be over his head with an SEC job.
Kyle Whittingham- If you can't beat em, get em to join you.
Derek Dooley- Will be offered a big time job in the near future, full potential isn't shown because of being at La. Tech.
Mark Richt- Not too realistic but if Georgia people wanna get rid of him, I'd be more than happy to have him at Bama.
Bobby Johnson- Does more with less than any coach in the nation compared to his competition.
I obviously would hate to see Saban leave because he is one the best coaches in the nation with the hardest work ethic but if he were to bolt, I'd want to see one of these men take the reins.
