I'm totally starting my own thread. It's gonna be super awesome. There's gonna be hookers and blackjack and you won't be invited.

I'm sorry!

I love hookers and blackjack!

I'm not good at blackjack. You'll want me there to steal my $.

I am pretty good at hookers, though.

I haven't seen and probably never will see Precious but just what I've heard about the story leads me to believe it's probably one of the most depressing and disgusting movies of all time.

Start a thread about movies you have never seen then.

'Precious' is the story of a a girl who grows up in most unfortunate circumstances. I'd rather watch 'Precious' again over 'Date Night' (or similar).
Superior Pariah,

I guess you and I are the only ones who saw Lilya-4-Ever. These people are listing movies that, I would say, pale in comparison.

Ever seen:
Christiane F (1981)
IMDB

Enjoy crying yourself to sleep tonight.

You want to turn a DVD into a file you can play on your computer, correct? Or DVD to .mp4 for iPod?

Legend (Childhood favorite)

Vanilla Sky (I prefer "Abre Los Ojos")

Top Gun (Too cheesy & iconic)

Anybody else found this to be nothing more than an unofficial Evil Dead sequel?

Not I.

The Evil Dead movies were fantastic. This movie was good. Apart from 1 or 2 scenes, it could have been Wes Craven...admit it.

SPOILER:
The bile & other juices eructing forth from the old woman into the girl's mouth was great.
I found the movie fascinating. I'm glad to see you guys liked it as well.

I think the hero's ability to "Tune" was the biggest negative about the movie... I imagine that the story would have been a lot more satisfying if ordinary humans SOMEHOW emerged victorious.

SPOILERS

I do not fully understand your complaint. The hero WAS an ordinary human...in that we humans can overcome anything. We change & adapt.

To the folks asking about the DC:

I recommend picking it up. I believe that there are 4 versions (Theatrical, ReCut, Extended, and Unrated...I believe). I enjoyed the extended version with the director's commentary after watching 2 versions of the film.

Good stuff.

I know Monsanto is far from perfect, I only know about them because my dad works for them. They have employed him and paid him for most of my life, that's why I didn't like the Monsanto bashing. They were just protecting their patent, to go after them for that, was absurd IMO

Monsanto's GM crimes are the least of their offenses.

On that note, though, if you think that patenting a variety of life is legitimate, you are a count.

(I promise not to hijack the thread any further.)

I recommend the documentary:

Pulling John (2009)

Did not see anyone mention:

The Corporation (2004?)
Dear Zachary (2008?)

And for:

Food, Inc. is a good one.

just watched that, thought it was interesting. They really go after the big companies, I was okay with that until they got to Monsanto, but that's cause my dad works for them

Your dad is a count.

Watch:
'The World According To Monsanto' if you do not know anything about the company.

I think that I have the quote tags figured out. Maybe the protocol is not 100% sorted in my brain bits?

I was just repeating a line from Four Rooms. Should I have used the quote tags for that? I figured that people who knew what it was would laugh. Have you seen Four Rooms?

Horseys! Yay!

I refuse to watch The Blind Side (I'm a straight, non-Christian adult).

I am foaming at the mouth for The Sekritairyat.

Interesting list. My top ten would include The Big Lebowski and Apocalypto...I think.

Not too many folks have seen Four Rooms or 11:14. I'm glad you have.
"More...ice." Haha.
If the trailers are an indication of the type of action and humour we can expect, I will hold off on the cinema experience...unless a friend convinces me otherwise. I doubt it will be 75% of the movie that 'True Lies' is (or even 'Losers' or [insert fun action flick]).

Basically, don't get too excited. You'll build it up in your head. Then, after your expectations are not met, you'll come running in here like that coquehead who was disappointed with Hot Tub Time Machine.
