Please stop with this shite. Boise had a sophomore QB. Didn't seem to hurt them. That's just one example. There are plenty of teams that succeed with QBs under 20.
For frick's sake!
And last year, Boise's QB was a starting freshman.
But the excuses feel better. LOL!

The guy can't tell time or manage his timeouts. And you're just now surprised at his stupidity?

On pure coaching ability - overall, I'd have to revise my list and put Miles last.
He's done less with more than any other coach in the conference.

How is it that Crowton can go from being the #1 coordinator in the country, two yrs ago, to being garbage?
Good question? You'd have to ask Crowton because its true.
My guess:
Poor QB development
Poor OL recruiting
Poor scheme
Bottom line: bad coaching

LSU - Les Miles. Ole Mess game was a national embarrASSment.

Stay the course. Miles is the long-term answer.
Rate the SEC coaches -again

After Saban, rate the coaches in the SEC from best to worst. Base it on pure head coaching ability and try not to factor in the the strength of the school/program or psat success.
Simply best coaching skills.
I'll go first:
Meyer - done it at many levels with BG, Utah, and UF
Brooks - at a major power like Bama or UF he would be considered one of the best. Last coach to lead Oregon to the Rose Bowl.
Nutt - A little goofy, but he gets a lot from his players and has been successful in the SEC for a long time. When was the last time OM played in back to back JAN bowls?
Spurrier - dropped off since leaving UF, but still has good skills. Handcuffed by ability of USCw to compete at a high level in SEC.
Petrino - a prick, but good coach. He has Arkansas trending in the right direction. He'd be good at any big-time program.
Richt - a few asst coaching mistakes and lack of more consistent success, but overall very good program leader.
Johnston - see comments about Brooks. He is very fundamentally sound.
Miles - good recruiter, but makes too many game-day mistakes. Lack of talent development, but good early record at LSU.
Mullen - looks like solid overall skills. If he runs the Dixon four times at the goal line he beats LSU.
Chizik - Not bad 1st year.
Kiffin - sleazy.

re: Mile's logic with considering keeping Crowton?

in his 1st season, we had the highest offensive numbers in LSU history
So then it was a knee-jerk reaction. He wasn't leaving after the first year. Why not let it play out and insure sustained success before a big payoff with a guarantee?
Again, not a good play on LSU's part.

it around $1 million.
Dude, that is nothing in the world of MAJOR college football.
Again, pathetic if true.
P.S. Why in the hell did LSU put itself in that position in the first place?

That's not saying much. I thought expectations were higher at LSU.

Are you serious? LSU can't handle the buyout of an asst coach? How much can it be?
Pathetic!!

I'd say 30% of Tiger fans support him; 70% don't care for him.
Caution: This is a no-win situation. I know. We've been there.

Does Miles keep his job at 8-4 and 4-4 in the SEC? Probably.
I'd also rank the SEC W as follows:

I can't believe that LSU is using the excuse that Crowton's buyout is too much to handle.
What a joke. Back to the 90s you go. LOL

So BP is saying that Crowton's buyout is too much to handle at this time??
Are you kidding? Man that is a cheap arse attitude.
