Landshark. Build a large shark tank close/in to the stadium and put a live shark in it. I liked that idea when it was brought up before.
After all, State "owns" the Landshark now. We can do what we want with it.

Auburn could be the Redbeards
Miss St. could be the Evans family (cause their campus looks like the beginning of Good Times)
Florida could be the Mermaids
Ole Miss could be the Grovers (and have the Seasame Street guy as the mascot)
LSU could be the Creole Colonels or the Zapp's Crawtators or the Zydeco Zealots.
Tennessee could be the Midnight Moonshiners
The Bama Babars is perfect as is the USC idea.

Rhode Island School of Design has one of the weirdest. They are the Balls. Scrotie is their mascot.
