You make a good point since we've heard that the all SEC schedule is so much more difficult than actually playing ranked teams.

Yep, just like LLLLLSU. But those teams both won 8 games! Winning percentages over 0.600, much better than barely winning as much as you lose!

They also didn't play a 10 game SEC schedule which Alabama fans like to claim is more difficult.

I'd say it's about equally challenging for an SEC team to go 8-5 overall against a normal schedule as it is to go 5-5 against an SEC-only schedule. I don't know how to split that hair. I can say with significant confidence that GT's 1991 performance was inferior to both 2011 AU and 2020 LSU, though, if I am being 100% honest and not just trying to get under LSU fans' skin.

LSU lost as many SEC games last season as Alabama has in the last 7 seasons combined, so that is quite an accomplishment.
