Oats had liked 10 6th year seniors last year. That season will be an aberration for him at Alabama.

Lol, buddy call me when you watched every televised game of Jeff Lebo and Tony Barbee's respective tenures at Auburn, then you can call yourself a basketball fan

Last year will become more of the norm. Lol at people crapping on a team that played the toughest schedule in the country bar none, should they be like 23-8 instead ? Probably but defense hasnt been consistent and the roster makeup was blown to hell when Primo left and burnett. As far as oats being figured out by the league? Lol theyre averaging 81 a game despite the 3s not dropping and turnovers being an issue. Id advise auburn fans to worry what life is gonna be like without Smith and Kessler

I'll see your Jeff Lebo and Tony Barbee and raise you an Anthony Grant, Avery Johnson, and David Hobbs.

Dude, Auburn is new money and it shows.

Wow, that's news to us. Pretty sure Petty, Reese and Herb were the only seniors (normal 4th years) with Bruner being a grad transfer.

I'm not old enough for that last guy, but you're going to call out someone else's basketball knowledge while acting like Grant and Avery are the same level of suck as Lebo just proves you're talking out of your arse. But saying "raise" over Barbee just proves you're trolling

Congratulations, you caught me this time, but now I know not to take anything you say serious.

Its either stupidity or the fear of Oats George. Alot of nervous fanbases because we finally have a cosch with an ACTUAl philosophy. Even worse news is the 2 (should be 3) 5 stars on their way next season

Dude Grant and Avery were terrible, great guys but no philosophy or style to recruit to at all. It was like watching paint dry on offense. Ill give u barbee but forgive us for actually having hope again .

Both Grant and Avery took Bama to the NCAAT and produced NBA player(s)? Yes? Then they both did better than Barbee AND Lebo, by a mile

Lebo was pretty similar to those 2.

Barbee was an absolute dumpster fire disaster.

No, he was worse. He was a dumpster fire too, his just was overshadowed by the burning landfill that was the Barbee era

Here's Lebo, Grant, and Avery in SEC games:

Lebo: 35-61 (.365)
Grant: 54-48 (.529)
Johnson: 34-38 (.472)

In 6 season Lebo had 4 losing seasons, and only took Auburn to the postseason once, and that was the NIT

In 6 seasons Grant only had 1 losing season, and took Bama to the postseason 4 times (1x NCAAT, 3x NIT)

In 4 seasons Avery had NO losing seasons and took Bama to the postseason all 4 years (1x NCAAT, 3x NIT)

I guess I completely misremembered his tenure. I felt like he was one that always went 17-15 (6-10) or something and then had that one year when they barely missed the tournament.

He had more bad years than I remembered. Maybe it just felt like he was better in hindsight after the Barbee disaster.
