embarrassing

See, you lose me there. I don't care about that at all. I'm more worried about what does it mean for the team itself and how good/bad they are.

So I see a team capable of being one of the best, and also a team that can be one of the worse when entitled thinking they've won before the game started and being entitled etc.

It takes a good team to beat Georgia. It doesn't take a good team to beat Vandy(so we all assume) and lose to Georgia.

It's simple.

One regular season loss means nothing and losing to Vandy is 100 times more embarrassing than losing to Georgia.

On the other hand, a loss to Vandy might be seen as a fluke.

A loss to Georgia ( or USC ) might be much more important in the big picture view. Wouldn't you agree ?

Does LSU play us this year? I sure hope not, because I think they are better than Vandy.

No slight against Vandy. I've never seen them as confident and determined to beat us.

They played great. Outcoached us. Outplayed us.

Now we'll see if DeBore is huskyharsin or not.

A single game result doesn't define a team, so I'd rather not lose to a bad team if possible.

It's a bad look for the program and can hurt you rankings wise if you play a weak schedule.

There's no positive to beating a good team and losing to a bad one, that I can see.

Well, you could say Alabama has the head to head matchup lead if both Georgia and Alabama win out.

That said, I'm not 100% sure making the SECCG is actually a positive anymore. Could be if both lost 2 or 3 and needed a AQ, but is that going to be a championship quality team anyway?

I'd rather a high ceiling than a medium high floor. Talent doesn't disappear, but focus does.

IIRC, you started a thread about your toenails, no judgement from me.

Care to provide a link or screenshot? I will hang out while you desperately look for a thread on my toenails.

Beating Georgia or losing to Vandy doesn't make Alabama any better or worse at the end of the day. They are what they are.

Why take an embarrassing loss for no reason?

2011 Alabama beat every team they should've and lost a close game to LSU, it didn't lower their ceiling any.

Sidewalk, don’t let them get to you

I recently turned 22 and my life is way better than yours. You are right to cope

I disagree. Context and the reason for the wins and losses is quite important.

Sure, it's only from an outsiders point of view in trying to understand what's going on that it matters, but that's what all of us are.

I'd have rather beat LSU and lost to Vandy that year even though it worked out in the end.

I can say I didn't get to go to Nashville this year. Was pretty drunk by the end of the game. (but do not live in T'Town)

Didn't beat my wife or my dog.

Not bad. How about a round of applause?

I’m sure you would. Your team got their rear ends handed to them the last time we met. Still stinging I see.
Keep on dancing though. At least y’all are good at that.

Well I mean in hindsight it worked out great. But you know, for awhile there it was pretty much looking like Alabama lost it's chance at a NC.

A loss to an insignificant team means Alabama still makes the SECCG, LSU does not and Alabama is in the BCS.

Probably worked out better for Alabama being able to skip the SECCG and make the BCS, but you damn sure couldn't expect or count on that. Especially since it was unheard of to have 2 teams from the same conference in the BCS.

Plus, when it comes to all time records, I'd rather put another in the W column against the better teams. And with Georgia, I still get to make fun of Kirby's record against Alabama, killed the narrative it was only a Saban problem and the only thing they can do is nut ride Vandy for doing what they couldn't.

If that's cope, then I guess I'm coping.
