Contract extension?

Actually, nothing. No one expects Willie Fritz to do anything his first season with the program in such poor shape

I would not count out Strong staying in Austin long term quite yet

Gilbert is the key to the whole thing

What gives you that false impression? Obviously years of blathering about having more money and wanting to prove it hasn't sunk in.

That's not what I said at all. It's more about the willingness to dump that kind of money into football.

A&M boosters appear to be content with a winning season. They are pretty happy with any coach that can accomplish that. They could get almost any coach to do that at A&M with just talent alone so why shell big time money for a coach if you are content with what you have already? LSU boosters are not ok with just a winning season. They want championships and they want them bad. They are more than willing to shell out big time money on a coach if they believe that coach can bring the championships.

I honestly don't know which school has more boosters with money. I do know which schools boosters is more willing to spend that money though.

If you fire Miles what type of coach could you get to replace him

That's what I was thinking when they were going to fire him last year. It wasn't a great season by LSU standards, but Les isn't exactly chopped liver. You can't fire him unless you have someone that you know is better lined up. Firing him just for the sake of firing him is dumb.

I think what happened is they wanted to pull Jimbo Fish out of FSU. When their power play didn't fall through, they retained CLM. I don't disagree with the mindset, but the way they handled it looked bad IMO

Les Miles would fit perfectly at UT
If LSU gets rid of him there are many schools out there for him to choose from

No doubt. His win/loss record at LSU is 112-32. He's won a ship, two SEC championships, and finished first in the west 3 times. Not bad at all in the NCAA's toughest conference.

That would bring on the downfall of LSU If you fire Miles what type of coach could you get to replace him Anyone that cares about job security will not go to LSU to replace a coach who wins 8 games in the bad years It would bring on Gerry Dinardo like results to LSU

All complete nonsense. Any half decent coach could put up a 9-3 season with the talent LSU posesses. Hell Dan Mullen went 8-5, 7-6, 10-3, and 9-4 the past 4 years with a bunch of SEC leftovers in the same division. Pair his flair for dual threats and passing with the talent Louisiana has at its disposal and you are looking at a road grader of a team.

This isn't TAMU. With top 4 talent in the country (using the past 4 years recruiting rankings), 18 returning starters, one of the highest paid staffs in the country, and a coach who has been here for more than a decade, losing 3 regular season games is not an option. Hell, a 10-2 record would signify even with the advantages, he can never make LSU anything more than an also-ran.

Everything is set up for him to win the division in 2016, if he can't, then when will he? With 5 straight losses versus Bama, back to back losses by more than 2 TDs to Arkansas, four straight 3+ loss seasons, 3rd, 5th, and 4th place finishes in the division, and 5 losses in the last 2 years by more than 2 TDs each, he has no more room. He backed himself into a corner. LSU going through a money crisis, Jimbo saying no, LSU admin f**king over the process, and a likely #1 recruiting class were the only things that stopped him getting fired last year.

Everything that happened at the end of last season flies in the face of what you just said.

Yeah a repeat season would result in him getting 1 more year but fans would be over it.

I think Gus will be in trouble if he has a bad year. Auburn just gave Gus a contract extension and that is usually the kiss of death for an Auburn coach. Auburn has never fired a coach that they didn't pay for the next eight years or so, lol.

I think Miles will have a great year this year and LSU will have to start looking for a new AD. Would actually like to Miles win the NC if we are not in the hunt. Would be the ultimate slap in the face to the AD for Miles to come in and win the NC after what happened last year.

The Aggies may get rid of the alcoholic.

UT is in pretty good shape with Sgt. Carter

Arkansas is in good shape with Bert.

MSU is ok with Uncle Eddie

Ole MIss going on probation, Hugh will ride it out.

Muschamp will fail over time

Florida is ok with McElwain

Kentucky, basketball school

Vandy, they don't care about football

Missouri, yankees

Georgia has a great coach and it will interesting to see how he does this year.

BAMA, we will probably repeat!

If we win 8 games plus a bowl for 9 next year they'll put a Mullins statue on campus and in every church in Starkville.

We've been predicted last every year Mullen has been coach and have only finished that way his first year.
