You really think if he missed it, Eli Gold would’ve sat there in silence?

And yes they it’s a classic Bama melt to bitch about fans rushing the field

For a guy who is a public figure, household name down south abs was on the air at the time…yeah, that’s a pretty big melt.

So TAMU was fined 100k for fans rushing the field but Eli made claim that it would be $250k and never said the final score.

It was a bitch move.

I honestly don’t think it was that bad especially over radio. However the video from the booth, you could tell they were butthurt bad.. but who wouldn’t be , most the radio guys are that way. They are paid to be that way..

If you just listen to the call only, it tells a pretty good story of how Bama fans were feeling.. imho.

Agree. I don’t see the issue.

That's melting? Is society really this weak right now? He literally said before the kick he would let the crowd reaction tell the story.

Bro, there is a poster on this site whose own team is barely .500, and yet he thrives off pointing out that a particular NFL player got 10 more yards than another particular NFL player, or some other obscure stat that no one else cares about.

Trying to troll any aspect of Alabama football is literally all some people have left on here.

It doesn't even have to make sense anymore.

Eli Gold is 10x the announcer than anyone at the cow college.

Rod Bramblet would never even mention the score if Auburn was losing.

I like that new guy that y'all have.

Stan White is still a little whining bitch, but the other guy calls a great game on the radio.
Andy is getting better and we tolerate his short comings in the booth because he is a great man, married to a great woman. In case you didn't know, after Rod Bramlett and his wife were killed by an under the influence driver, Andy and his wife became the legal guardians for Rod and Paula's children. He is far from being a great PXP guy but is improving. Does a better job calling basketball than football. On a side note, they moved the radio both to damn near the corner of the end zone and they can't see as well. Why they did that, who knows but it makes it tough on Andy and Stan.

Eli Gold is a good guy but he sucks as a PXP guy. I guess if I was an updyke, he would be okay, but he is not good

Oh wow, I actually did not know that. That's admirable as hell.

I don't mind homerism on local broadcasts, but he does it in such a way that reminds me more of a national announcer—still getting excited over opponents' big plays too.

Haven't heard him on any basketball games, but I'll check him out at some point soon. Can't wait for the SEC season to start.

Gold an annoyingly atrocious announcer and comes across as total pompous arse in what little I've ever heard the man talk. He also has as bad of a fake announcer voice as anyone I've ever heard.

He's mediocre at best, but is propped up because he calls Alabama games.

Bro, he may not be your cup of tea, but he's been an announcer for NASCAR, professional hockey, and the NFL, and won numerous accolades.

I don't really care to defend the man, but let's not be ridiculous.
