Well what do you expect? It’s basically a college town. OSU is the largest employer in the city. It’s got it’s neat little parts, but the main identity of the city is Ohio State.

It’s a fun place to live. I plan on moving to Brooklyn or Long Island in the future.

Red beans and cornbread.

No not pinto beans like Yankees call em

There is a debate amongst Texans as to what to call red beans. The cedar hackers in central Texas refer to them as brown beans, that's cedar hackers for you.

My closest friend lived out in Bethpage about an hour on a good day out of the city. Nice golf course.

Would not go back, was there for work, I have a nice chunk of land and home in Tennessee and see no reason to live like that anymore. Wife is from LA and feels the same.

San Francisco and New York had culture. Now NYC is a cesspool and in San Francisco people literally are allowed to crap in the streets. I’ll take Texas over that. Plus Texas- Mex food, barbecue and steaks are world famous.

Not sifting through 8 pages, but why is NYC being discussed? I assume poor trolling?

Long Island is way more affordable to own real estate than NYC. Areas like Lynbrook and Wading River have good school systems and still have reasonable property values.

I’m a Yankee because I think NYC is a fun city to visit? Does that make half of the people on this board Yankees?

I know the taxes are high, but real estate there is reasonable as long as you don’t look at the Hamptons

Not a debate. I asked everyone. Go brave big boy and choose something other than gumbo or Etouffee.

It's fun to poke at our LSU brethren, but man oh man, food in Louisiana is extremely good. There is a reason New Orleans is considered a food capital in the U.S.

I don't have any recommendations. I just get the four star beef chili block from Walmart.
