Go to his house and kill his 2 favorite trees. Punishment fits the crime.

Death by guillotine seems reasonable

He lives in Louisiana, poison your own state.

One year community service as groundskeeper at AU (closely watched) wearing a billboard "Am I the exception?" on one side and pictures of his autograph seekers on the other.

Honestly I think 2 years in prison and a boatload of community service should suffice.

No doubt. But no one was hurt. No one was robbed of anything tangible. If someone vandalized Denny Chimes or the Bear Bryant statue, I would say the same thing.
Fine him. Make him make a contribution to Auburn University. But significant prison time is absolutely ludicrous.

A hefty fine and several years of probation. Maybe 30 days in jail to appease the bloodlust of the unwashed masses.

The ones getting his autograph?

It's not so much the tree's per se. A man bought poison to kill something because he was angry over a rivalry. Today trees, tomorrow a Tigerette, our mascot Aubie, etc.
He needs to drink a big gulp of what he fed the tree's, and I am good with that. No jail time.

I think there is a significant difference in the trees vs a statue. A new statue can easily be erected, if these trees die (maybe they did, I don't know) it will take hundreds of years to grow back like they were.
ETA: I'm not defending either, but to make my point clearer I'd be much more offended if someone poisoned mike vs threw paint on a statue of miles.

I'm all in for a lifetime of embarrassment see the tattoo ref at top of page. Did he know the poison wasn't harmful to people? That is what is really scary isht...if it contaminated the soil and water supply(highly unlikely) That is what I thought about when I heard of the poisoning.

Clean up Jordan Hare Stadium in a Cam Newton jersey by himself for 4 or 5 years

This isn't Minority Report. We don't punish people for potential future crimes.
