He's middle-of-the-pack in the SEC, but seems to be improving.

Im glad he's at T8-4. Hope he gets additional years.

I root for A&M but I can evaluate unbiased.
He’s very motivated and a great leader. However, he’s not a threat on a long ball unless you have a receiver that can just outrun everyone and he can just throw it for him to run under it. He doesn’t get it into tight windows when throwing more than 20 yards. He’s pretty good under that mark though.
He’s very fast and elusive as a runner but the way to beat him is to make him throw long.
This year he’s better at that but it’s his biggest weakness.
My biggest criticism is that I haven’t seen him lead the team through a tough win.
Manziel would lead every player when on the sideline and coach up his weapons. His leadership skills hopefully get better.

I said in another thread that I thought he looked really good week one. He has a freaking cannon for an arm and he looks much improved from last year. You could see his potential the. But he is coming k to his own for sure.

The question i have is, is the staff going to play to his strengths, or will they just channel their inner-jimbo and force him to be a pocket passer?
I can promise you that Collin Klein is not going to force him to become only a pocket passer.

Let’s hold off on this until this weekend. I’m not trying to say he’s going to fall off this weekend, but 2 games against very inferior teams isn’t a great way to judge a player.
This is 100% true, but my eyeball test says he looks on the verge of being great.
He is still not consistent enough, but he's close. He misses high too much, and that's very dangerous over the middle of the field.

My honest answer is that I think he’s a great college quarterback for the system he’s in. However, if I’m in the two minute drill down four or more, and I absolutely need a TD and I need to go 80 yards, he’s probably not in the top 20 current college QBs I’d want leading that drive
