I like the CBS broadcast very much. I don't pay much attention to Danielson, he knows the game. Brad Nessler is very good play-by-play guy. I remember when Nessler was the sports guy on WGST radio in ATL.
I think that ABC will carry the game at 3:30 EST. Disney will need eyeballs to help pay for this contract they have with the conference.

Good riddance. It will be great to have 2:30 games that end before 7:00.

The only thing I'll miss about CBS is the intro music. That said, frick ESPN.

I'm tired of 4 hour ballgames

Danielson seems to be the only one who actually dives into his job.
After a really fun play, he'll draw it all out and say "we saw this in the media session with the team this week, and the coaches had confidence they could pull it off in a 3rd and 8, and oh boy did they" or some shite like that.
But he wasn't talking out of his arse. He literally saw them run that play in practice, he did his homework as a sports journalist, and delivered top notch content to his audience, basically doing his job better than 99.9% of "journalists" or "commentators" on any beat in media.
And Verne, before his unfortunate side effects of getting old, was an excellent play by play guy. He had the voice, the inflection, and was like listening to your uncle call the game. I guess that's why they called him Uncle Verne.
Hopefully Gary can get a gig at Disney.

I already miss Verne getting players names wrong.
"Derrick Harvey to the endzone!"
"There goes Harvey!"

Unpopular opinion but man i miss vern. I never got the hate the man got on this board. I guess hating vern was just the popular thing to do at the time.
Throw in gary too. They were awesome. When the SEC on CBS finally goes, a little piece of me will die with it.

You're not the only one my friend. Probably one of my favorite CFB broadcasters.

People hated Gary because he seemed to be a Bama homer, but he wasn't, he just called it how it was, Bama was just better and he was being honest and objective.
Regarding Verne, everyone loved him until his old age started kicking in and he made mistakes and whatnot, maybe hung around a year too long.

I’m not looking forward to our games being exclusively on ESPN during election years. It will be insufferable.
Which nowadays start 4 years in advance

The production is excellent. Everything cbs does is top notch.

I will miss Gary and Nessler,
They used to do a lot of our big games on ABC back when Bob was coaching and I always liked them.

The theme song is the best song in sports. But the game of the week should be a night game. Hope ESPN makes this change. CBS got it right with the double header once a year, giving us a night game.

Disney gonna make us look like looney tunes characters

One of the most exciting things for me, after Mizzou joined the SEC, was realizing that music was actually going to play before their game.
I was so pumped. I grew up listening to that theme song in Nebraska, Texas, and Colorado. I was a college football junkie- even as a little fella. Hearing the song associated with Mizzou…it was just special. I’ll miss that intro. Maybe ABC/Disney or the SEC can buy it from CBS?
Anyway. Go ahead with the Mizzou doesn’t belong here comments. Or are we still busy hating on the whorns and boomers?
