The game was 10-6 at that point
Lsu didn't even get points from the turnover and ended up beating bama 26-10

You dont actually think LSU would have won in 2009 even with that Patrick Peterson interception... do you?

I for one don't. Frankly I get sick and tired of LSU fans harping on it. It wasn't like that non-call would have given us an automatic victory. The Tide (literally and figuratively) had aleady turned against us and our offense was pitiful that year. I seriously doubt that if that if we had gotten the ball at that point that we would have been able to do anything with it.
well that is refreshing to hear from a Tiger fan
with posts like that we might actually be able to have a thread that doesn't turn into a completely biased flame fest
I'll see your post, and match you with even if we had gotten that PI call in 2004, it was almost a certainty we would never have been able to hold on for the win. Spencer Pennington and our offense that year was abysmal

Tommy Casanova laying out Johnny Musso in the '69 game. Bama fans claim the hit occurred out of bounds, but no flag was thrown.
I remember that well. That was indeed a great moment...

Thinking back on it and reading through this thread...
there have been some pretty epic games going back the last 15 years or so

You are right I was confused. The reed game was in bama, watched that one on tv, and the jumbotron game I was at. But wasn't reed in the jumbotron game also?

As it relates to this... Here is my two cents...
Momentum can be a big factor in college football and had this been called correctly it could has given enough of a boost to LSU to make a difference. Conversely a bad call (such as this one...) can swing the momentum against you.
Having said all that we will never no what the outcome "might" have been and the ink is dry on this one.
I have moved on....

I still had my "I Was There When LSU Beat The Bear" t-shirt until a few years ago. It got "lost" when we last moved.

Sad end to that play was the career-ending injury to Marvin Constant.
Sad also because the refs didn't give a frick and just ran off the field.
The refs were more than happy to stop the clock for a injured Bama player on the previous play though.
In fairness though, Bama definitely beat us that day and Booty was an idiot for running it with no timeouts and more downs to spare. With 1:45 left, the game should have been over when Booty launched a deep bomb that should have been easily intercepted.
Watch this video starting at the 8 minute mark.

This is why I never for one second missed the Booty brothers.

#7 was WIDE OPEN had he just thrown him the ball. And even if he dropped it the clock would have stopped and they could have run another play
Whats sad is that wasn't even Booty's worst moment... wasn't he the guy who changed the play against UAB and threw a pick 6 to lose to the Blazers?

That's not even close to being right. Alabama punted to LSU, the returner was hit right around the time the ball arrived, he fumbled, flags were thrown, LSU clearly recovered.
Refs got together and waved off the flag for kick catch interference, and tried to give the ball to Alabama even though we had clearly recovered.
100% on the money

I think we will have to wait for 11/5/11 to know for sure, I have my doubts about the strength of the Bama line aganst LSU.
