You can’t hear it at a game, they have about 25 members in the band. They literally go out and beg some high school kids to play. Terrible.

Alabama is located in or near recruiting hotbeds. Nebraska has to get into California, Florida, Texas. That’s far from Lincoln. Tom Osbourne did it though.

You have never met Miami fans if you want the U back. They really are the worst fans in CFB and second really isnt close.
I want Nebraska back somewhat. Always liked the blue collar midwest feel their program had.

Nebraska. Always liked and respected Coach Osborne, and their home sellout streak is crazy
Screw Nebraska and Osborne. He was able to achieve his success earlier in his career with juiced up freaks and a shady "walk-on" program and after that caught up with em and he lost 7 bowl games in a row,he started recruiting miscreants, criminals and partial qualifiers to achieve his mid 90's success.
I do respect the passion of their fans though.

He did it in the 90's because he was taking partial/non qualifiers.
quote:
In the Fiesta Bowl, Nebraska started four partial or non-qualifiers (cornerback Michael Booker, defensive tackle Christian Peter, cornerback Tyrone Williams and defensive end Jared Tomich), and two others, wideout Reggie Baul and outside linebacker Jamel Williams
quote:
According to Nebraska officials there were at least 12 partial or non-qualifiers in the program last fall. "Among elites schools Nebraska is a true haven for partial and non-qualifiers," said the coach of another elite school.

I'd like to see GT be a bit better as well. I'm not quite old enough to have ever really hated those guys, and I have some interest in all of the Georgia schools (and Georgia kids at those schools) do well.
Thanks for the shout out
Under Collins we're trying like hell to Recruit better and get better HS Recruits from in-State, Collins has to un-do 11 years worth of Triple Sloption FB telling the HS Recruits in GA that GT didn't care about them getting to the NFL and that we as a University don't take our CFB very seriously
So far under Collins we've gone from averaging in the mid 50s Recruiting Classes to Top25 in his 1st class and we'll likely hit Top25 with his 2nd class also, once we start to win we think that we can consistently hit the Top15 Recruiting Classes, based on local Metro Atl Area Talent
If the dominoes fall correctly Recruiting wise, I think we can be a consistent 9-10 win Team and challenge for the CFP every 5 years
In summary we're going to pass Teams like Tennessee, south carolina, Texas A&M, Miss State, U Mississippi, Auburn, maybe Flarda
The local Talent we get to stay at home and play for GT will slowly weaken many SEC Teams that do well Recruiting in the Metro Atl Area
Look out CFB, we comin'

FSU and Miami to make that rivalry game great like it used to be.
These aren't particularly "powers" of college football, but it'd be nice to see WVU and Georgia Tech be good again.
Tennessee is a traditional power and needs to be good again to add that extra element in the East

I'll go with Texas. They haven't been the same since the 70s ended and still get treated like a Blueblood. If people are going to treat them that way, I'd like to see them actually earn it.
Well they did have the best win percentage from 2000-09 outside of Boise State, but your point still stands.
Texas, Michigan and Nebraska have received the benefit of the doubt for years now and just have not backed it up when it matters

Lets not forget about your '83 team.
I believe they still hold the record for most players drafted (12 rounds).
Texas has a much better resume in the last 20 years than Michigan or Nebraska.

Distance isn't as much of a factor as it was in the past. I also don't think distance is what is keeping recruits away from Nebraska right now. If a coach arrives in Omaha with a proven track record of getting players into the NFL, recruits will start seriously considering Nebraska again.

I wouldn't mind seeing these, but it's highly unlikely to happen again.

Never say never. I remember how, after we fired Shula in November 2006, national journalists were criticizing the move and arguing we could never get back to the kind of winning we had enjoyed under Bryant. We were a has-been, a dying star, a white dwarf. However, all it takes is the right coach to turn it all around. Scott Frost could be that coach. Either way...I don't think their situation is as dire as most people are claiming it is.
Alabama was suffering under sanctions during that time, Nebraska is not. NU needs Texas recruits, but when they left the Big 12, they cut that line. The mid west does not produce the same level of recruits that Florida or California do, and recruits from those states very rarely want to go play in cold weather.
I highly doubt NU returns to the high table more than an occasional year every decade or so.

Disagree. Official visits of course they can do, but most schools a kid visits 3-4 times and that is the issue. Getting poor kids to camps @ Nebraska, or to come on a random unofficial visit is insanely hard. Most of these kids can't afford that. So they lose the huge advantage of local camps with hotbed talent like SEC schools have.
