Several times I saw people doing the horns down sign in the crowd and that gives major little brother vibes. Try and act more serious. No one cares about Texas in the SEC they are irrelevant
I agree. The optics are dumb like it's the University of I Hate Texas, but it is so ingrained in OU fandom it will never go away. The thing about about it is many of the Texas schools have a 'hand signal' which is gay af to begin with - TT's guns up and Baylor's bearclaw, as examples - but when OU fans realized the Longhorns really get upset about the upside-down horns, well.. it has to be done

Underwood turned 18 two weeks ago and it showed. Everyone said before the game just shut down their run and make Underwood throw which is not good at right now.
He looked very bad and if he doesn't get better, they will go 6-6. They brought in a good veteran from Fresno State with 10k yards, but he got hurt in preseason. I dont think they expected Underwood to start this early.

You guys looked really strong on both sides however Michigan is a very one dimension team with an overrated 5 star freshman.
Can we all just agree to stop throwing big money at these highschool QBs. They haven't proven anything yet. Give me an hard working experienced blue collar transfer QB over a multi million dollar Nico or Underwear or whatever his name is any day.
Totally agree. My main thing was regardless their QB, they still have players all over their team, recruited well. Look at OU last year we had practically zero offense year and still managed to beat Bama plus were in most games til D wore out. Michigan still has players and when we lost momentum we got it back. Still saying 9-3 which given our schedule and how much parity there is in SEC thats back to me.
And we haven’t had both sides of LOS play like that in over a decade. The trenches are a big deal and I was encouraged by what I saw. We played a lot of freshman too.
And yes again on QBs. You still have to recruit them but with NIL its a gamble on paying them. QBs get the most NIL so its a dice throw. Plus if a high star QB doesn’t start year 1 they likely transfer out. The last great recruited QB OU had was Caleb Williams and before that was Sam Bradford. The rest came via transfers.

I hope Arch lines up some good doctors on advance he’s going to need them. You had your all 15 year team last year and still couldn’t win it all.
To illustrate how much difference a QB leader can make:
The Sooners 16-play game-clinching drive vs UM is tied for the seventh-longest (by number of plays) scoring drive since 2008:
The drive took 8:27 of clock time which is second only to an 8:35 drive (also since 2008) against Baylor in 2016
Looking forward to RRS.

I hope OU learns to run block by then or it’s going to be a long day.

You're not wrong. This could end up being a very brutal and low scoring game and how the QBs react to it may be the difference, which is why I'm grateful for who we have.

Minus 1 busted play out of the half, Michigan ran for 71 yards in 31 carries for an avg of 2.3 yards per carry. I think we’ll be ready. Oh, and we still have 2 D studs who will be back soon.
Oh and yes, our run game is not good yet. However, Mateer is a running qb and Arbuckle is going to keep running him. Adds a bit more challenge to opposing defenses. It also means more open receivers as teams cheat up to stop it.

Mateer is what everyone thought Arch would be.

Mateer looked solid and the defense is nasty. Very good improvement

That’s what happens when you can stack a box.

Some defenses will have to cheat up, but a lot of the defenses that you’ll face on your schedule won’t as they’ll have a talent advantage. Though it is an extra thing that defense will have to account for, so yes it is a slight advantage.
