You would have thought MSU would have waited a little bit out of respect to Leach.

I mean college football business can wait to honor Leach.

Good luck to him. We were hoping we could have brought him over to Auburn.

Other programs were coming in with blood in the water to our players (tampering). Really low class. Not sure this is the reason but continuity and holding this class together is key.

National signing day is 7 days away and there are rumors of coaches already trying to undo leach’s recruiting work. You cannot be serious.

I don’t think we had ANY other choice. And I think it could have been much worse.

While all your coaches are already trying to poach guys on our team…ok.

And you would have thought Auburn wouldn’t have hired who they did out of respect to humanity. Yet here we both are.

There probably won’t be any major media releases (other than the announcement) until Mike is laid to rest, as it should be, but we can’t go without a coach this close to NSD. We’ve made the best decision we could given the horrible circumstances we found ourselves in and done so in a way that is respectful.

The year after Leach left Oklahoma as OC to be HC at Texas Tech, Oklahoma won a national championship.

With Josh Heupel leading the charge at QB. Us UT fans are thankful for the Leach for what he turned Heupel into.

Nope never claimed it. Just appreciating the work that Leach done with Heupel and gave him a chance. Leach is amazing coach and has an eye for talent.

I love this move. Slightly reminds me of the Matt Luke situation as a first time HC, but with a slightly higher ceiling. Big shoes to fill, but he has my undying support. I hope he can galvanize the team and honor Mike’s legacy.

You also would think that other coaches wouldn't be POS's and out of respect to Leach wouldn't try to poach our players the day after he died. However, Hugh Freeze is one of the biggest pieces of scum on earth. Get out of here with that sanctimonious crap.

There are two times when I miss Ed Orgeron. 2019 and responding to these claims.

You all are pretty self sanctimonious so nice projection there.

You all are still doing business as usual in your program. Poaching players and recruiting from the portal right?

Player announces portal on a Monday, Arnett’ on the phone Tuesday, and then commits Wednesday, Who is poaching who? MSU doing business as normal but everyone else hands off our players or you are pieces of shite!

Not how it works gents so please dispense with your righteous indignation.

We can still mourn the loss of Leach and understand this is not unique to one school.

Is Arnett the first Hispanic head coach in the SEC?

There's a big difference between recruiting a player that's in the portal and calling a player whose coach just died to lure him into the portal, just my opinion.

Kind of like the righteous indignation in your first post where you suggested it was disrespectful for us to hire someone so quickly? So we should be the only school without a head coach on ESD out of respect for Leach?

ETA: Let's be honest, I think we all know which SEC West head coach would be first on the phone to steal Leach's players before he is in the ground, maybe you're having a hard time coping with the fact that that is the type of person y'all hired.

Right, no poaching was done before that, because every portal commitment happens within 24-36 hours.

Also, has there been any real proof what you and the wannabe rasta guy claim?

There was a reason for that. It was based on an earlier thread by the OP. Just a reminder that even MSU has to carry on with business at hand for a football program. I really didn't have an issue with it at all that you hired him.

They had to hire Arnett quickly not just because of the recruiting or "poaching", but they had to do it to show stability for the program so more players don't consider leaving on their own, H.S. recruits don't decommit.

Like I said, everyone has shown great respect to Leach, but every team has to manage a roster in the new CFB climate. It's sad Leach passed away at all, but it just happens to be at a crucial point for recruiting. Not everything happening is sinister and underhanded.
