Check the standings, beotch. At this moment, Bama is tied for 3rd in the league with Gator. Right behind Cocky and Big Blue. I don't know how, but 8 games into league play, that's where we stand.

SEC basketball should really come into its own as early as next year
Tennessee, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Alabama are all very young this year, and most will return the majority of their rosters (only big loss from any of those teams will be Hubbs from UT). All should have tourney expectations.
Kentucky is Kentucky.
Florida has a really nice recruiting class coming in and that young core of Allen, Hayes, and Stone will win a lot of games over the next few years.
South Carolina may take a step back without Thornwell, but they should still be solid. If Dozier comes back, they'll probably have tourney expectations.
Arkansas loses Kingsley and Hannahs but has a really nice recruiting class coming in, and Macon, Barford, and Beard will be one of the more experienced backcourts in the league. Their success next year probably depends on how quickly Gafford adjusts, but they have potential.
A&M could be solid depending on who comes back. Robert Williams is probably gone, but if you add a steady PG to that core of Gilder, Hogg, and Davis, you have a good, solid, tournament-caliber team.
Ole Miss could also be good depending on how their frontcourt is next year. Saiz will obviously be tough to replace but a combo of Olejniczak and Silins at C has potential to be solid, and their young guards are progressing well.
Georgia depends on whether or not Maten returns. If he comes back, they'll be solid NIT-maybe-bubble level like this year, but if he leaves, they'll be one of Fox's worst teams imo.
Vandy will probably take a step back losing Kornet and maybe Matthew Fisher-Davis, but they won't be awful. Maybe their OOC schedule will be easier so their record won't reflect a step back.
That's twelve of the fourteen teams going into next year with some kind of realistic postseason aspirations. LSU and Mizzou won't be good but at least both should have new coaches and some kind of hope for their programs' futures.
