Hell of an effort by most of the league today.

Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Vanderbilt and Auburn put together solid performances. Texas A&M and Ole Miss were impressive against very solid opponents.

LSU, well, nobody expected much from you.

Arkansas and Kentucky, not good.

Overall - hell of an effort. Doesn't mean much in the long run, but it was a good start in slowly clawing back some respect for the league as a whole.

Tennessee dominating K-State and Vanderbilt beating Iowa State were also nice surprises in games I saw as toss-ups.

SEC went 5-5 against the Big 12, and 3 of the top 6 teams in the SEC didn't play....

The worst teams didn't play either

Bama and State aren't top 6 teams.

I don't disagree with you but...

Check the standings, beotch. At this moment, Bama is tied for 3rd in the league with Gator.
Right behind Cocky and Big Blue. I don't know how, but 8 games into league play, that's where we stand.

You are correct. I didn't even bother checking the standings.

Kentucky really let the SEC down

I really think that if UGA doesn't have the let down in the final minutes of the A&M game that we beat Bama.

Then if we get one rebound at the end of the UF game we have 1 loss in conference play. However, I don't think we are the second best TEAM in the league but we certainly can compete with everybody but Kentucky thanks to Yante Maten.

I think at this point of the season Tennessee and A&M are two of the better teams in the league.

I can't wait to see Wiley go up against Maten at the end of the season.

Maybe, but it wasn't like it was a close game

Who is Wiley? I didn't think we played Navy this year.

We got outrebounded by 15 in the first half...you don't think we played with no effort.

Despite that, if it wasn't for the two horrible Technicals and that atrocious flagrant call we would have only been down by 4 at one point of the second half. We really weren't ever close but we didn't play like we had a heart beat.

Bruh, Austin Wiley. The best big man freshman in the league. Also, soon to be two time SEC freshman of the week when they release it tomorrow.

Idk much about him. Maybe he is that kid that graduated early. I didn't see him play against UGA. If he is really good enough it will be a good matchup but Maten is giving up a couple of inches.

Yup. He graduated HS early, enrolled Dec. 16 and played his first game Dec. 18th.

He was still 17 when we played UGA on Dec. 29th and been in school a week and a half, so he was still getting used to the competition change of the college level. Only played 19 minutes against UGA but had 11 points and 4 rebounds.

He's really come into his own just in about the last week though. Completely took over the games in the wins against Bama and TCU. Had 19 points and 9 rebounds against Bama, and 25 points and 7 rebounds against TCU... also had a double double in the game in between those 2 that was lost to USCe with 10 points and 11 rebounds

Wiley was unstoppable on offense against Bama and they have some solid defending, long and athletic bigs in Hall and Taylor.

Not the typical raw SEC freshman big man, pretty polished offensive skills.
