I don't need to reread shite. I've been doing football stats and reading them for nearly 20 years now. My first computer power and ranking system was in 2007 during the "BCS Busters" crap with Boise St and Utah.

I wanted to find out if they were actually strong teams or a product of their schedules.

Spoiler: They were products of their schedules.

I currently have Kentucky #4 based on resume, and if I had a AP vote that's probably where I'd rank you myself. But you are #30 when it comes to actual team power. You are predicted to finish the season 9-3 and around #18.

I understand the difference in those 2 ratings, do you?

Does it mean Kentucky can't do better and make the playoffs? No. It just means it's less likely. You still have a 33.2% chance to make it to the playoffs, all you need to do is win 1 of the expected 2 losses. It's not the most likely, but it is still decently possible.

If the power rankings had Kentucky #1, you would all harp on and on about how great they are. But they don't have the results you want, so now the stats must be bad.

MilkJug, I normally like to argue about your model but today, driving home from Auburn after a great win I think it's the smartest college football model ever invented.
